Thank you

Going for mods before I even get to see her in the flesh.

I am leaning towards refinishing the wheels to satin black with a Grey Black or polished pinstripe

Your car looks so amazing I wouldn’t change the wheels. I think the combo is so special and goes well with the PTS. MHO and my own taste of course. It is just gorgeous this colour you chose!

Hi
So are the CF steering wheels not coming through on the WP cars then? thought it was stock on WP cars. They came through on the 2RS in the end. Its not a full wheel, its a CF cover that fits on top. On the sound of the the new cars, with Ex off it is not as loud as say the off on a 991-R. But with Sports Ex on the new Gen 3 engine cars are as the same DB reading as Ex On settings in the 991-R at 4k Rpm. The R is as loud as a 991RS. So not concerned about the sound any more.

Agree APPOLO , sound not the big issue as track limits and it is the induction noise up to 9k that you hear in car ...

As the old vacumn exhaust valves have been replaced by new electronic exhaust valves on the GPF RS i expect the transition between on/off will be less pronounced . Or is it more complicated than that..?
JCR have assured me they intend to develop a new Titanium exhaust for the GPF RS..Akrapovic on the other hand have said that they do not intend developing an exhaust for the GPF RS due to the very low numbers of cars and short life cycle.

They are not coming through and will be supplied later, just like the 2RS. I asked for a delivery date and they couldn’t give me one.

Based on the new Gen 3 car I measured yesterday with the Exhaust on Open mode at 4k Rpm, it had the same DB reading as what my 991-R had in same mode, which was the same as the 991.1RS. Any Louder and it would struggle to make the DB limit on some tracks. Whist in Exhaust closed mode it was 3 Db lower than when the 991R was in the same mode. Last years Gen 2RS has a bit less sound proofing on the inside than the 991.1, this new car has the same. This new Gen 3 engine car feels and sounds a lot different in the way in which it Revs. Look forward to see some on track days.

I wonder if a new or modified PF cartridge would be simpler, quite a serious looking piece of kit after the PFs ??

It certainly looks heavy vs a little titanium.

Apparently the old side mufflers were 22lbs each side but now deleted, the new PF replacements are much lighter so I’m told but does it really matter?

According to a (seemingly very knowledgable) German who posted on the PFF site one of the biggest technical challenges of the GPF on the GT3 engine is the reduction in the header length and this alone is responsible for some of the sound difference and where the power and torque peaks in the rev range. I seems like an insurmountable challenge as the gasses need to be very hot when they enter the GPF matrix . You can see on the diagrams above that the manifold is shortened. If you have experience with headers on these cars (I had the Dundon ones on my 991.1 GT3) you will know that the length is a critical aspect to tuning for output etc. it’s a weird and complicated science in practice. I’m unsure anything other than a full manifold coward aftermarket system will restore all the sound - and then of course there will likely need to be some remapping of the ECU. I don’t expect the aftermarket industry to get behind this in force till the 992 GT3 arrives as the US doesn’t have the .3 RS....

That would make sense with a limited opportunity and small market. I wouldn’t want to start re mapping as that's the warranty gone!

How many markets require the PF?
