Sorry got carried away there.

No 992 GT3 not for me not that I think I would get allocated one anyway.

Would like a Boxster Spyder if NA

Only 992 would be RS or GT2 RS but that would be subject to the eventual configuration!

Hope that helps thumbup

I was taking to a 75 year old lady in a restaurant yesterday

She has passed her theory test and takes her driving test in the next 6 weeks. She also goes to the gym 3 times a week!!!

Unfortunately, us mere mortals have to purchase many Vanilla cars before any chance of an RS, (9 in my case since 2012) and yes having just missed out on a 2RS that is the only 992GT car I'll be interested in.

IF i get offered a 992GT3 it will have to be one hell of a car as my RS will have to go back to get it..I'm much more interested in what the 718 Spyder brings which will be a more natural upgrade from my existing 981 Spyder..
My personal wish is that Porsche are longer able to improve on their existing GT cars in terms of excitement which will make my car buying decisions much easier..
I applied that mentality six months ago when i was looking to buy my first Ferrari..After briefly considering a 488, i eventually decided a 458 with a screaming 570PS 9K revs will be a more exciting drive, and more than fast for my needs and abilities..As it turned out it was the right decision as i bought it blind without even driving one .!.
I secretly wish Porsche will go in the same direction as Ferrari to entice me to keep my existing RS and Spyder...I'm not holding out much hope for that if i'm honest..
I can see me in a 992GT3 and 718 Spyder in a couple of years as i'm putty in Porsche's hands..I must try harder to resist temptation..!

Continuing the less is more theme, with its fully electric roof and dumbed down engine aurals it will be interesting to see the appeal of a 718 Spyder above the 981 even despite the 718s rather wasted (imo, for a cab) GT suspension upgrade.

Naughty naughty Mr D putting such evils thoughts in my head..
Actually when i think of it, that's not such a daft idea as a 458 Speciale is IMO the best supercar ever made(CGT aside)..Two problems i have with doing that:

1. I've wanted this RS since i put an LOI in 2015 and did everything to get an allocation..
2. When i asked my DP recently how he chose me to get an RS over other customers. He replied that i'm an easy, loyal undemanding customer, who's never given a single word of grief to any of his staff all the way from my Sales exec down to the workshop guys.He also clearly said that i buy all my Porsches to enjoy and have never flipped a GT car for a profit behind their backs.
I always keep my word with the DP and all other business i conduct on a daily basis..Everybody who knows me will testify to that..

For me it’s no contest, I hated the 996 and think the 991.2 in Manual is as perfect a car as one can make.

The 996 made a pretty st road car on all accounts.

991.2 is much harder to drive also and demands more brain work due to how manic it is.
The 996 cannot match it in any way and only comes to its own on track.

It’s not all good news, modern cars are too fast.

I have ordered a 30th Ed mx5, lsd, big brakes, forged wheels, recaros, all for £28k

Why own a RS ?

It was only a few months ago that you were considering buying a 996 GT3.... confused

Not really, I asked about one that’s it, was never going to happen.
Been there done it, some times you think about revisits but then come to your senses.

Is that what your OPC has told you ? I’d read £60k somewhere for the base model which I couldn’t believe TBH. I’ve had my name down for a while...I know some people have said they’ve been asked for them but my OPC isn’t taking them yet.

I think it’ll be very cheap motoring

The £80k was my figure not that of my OPC and is just a best guess based on speculative reports in the motoring press a while ago.

Never been on the Tesla website so don't know what they cost but I wouldn't have thought the Taycan will have the same basic cost of the former- because we all know Porsche don't we....yes

the 80k one will likely be the one with the smallest battery/lowest power. I think I read somewhere the proper one will be 150k Euros plus, but probably below the price of Panamera Turbo S Hybrid. Nothing confirmed anyway, so will be interesting to see
