That Merc GTR sounds a bit of a bargain,I like those, very different!
I would like to try one, really like them, but why are dealers giving such big discounts. I was close to getting an M4 CS list £110k but new £59k a few months later.
570s trade bits are sub 80k atm ! That’s even if you can get a bid, the main dealers won’t buy them back !

Anyone feeling the need to add 100k in options to a 600lt needs his head checked.
There all on there to be bought and if you were specking a Porsche would you leave of things like Club Sport or WP.I couldn't see that you could leave off things like Carbon Packs etc on the 600LT.
I think it's Mclaren that are mad requiring you to add options at these prices.
I think the carbon roof was near £10k, that's ridiculous but the car would look st without it!!!
Maybe its Mac that are mad?

May I please ask which website are you using to be able to spec a McLaren? Like AM or Ferrari or Lambo, I never managed to have a price when having fun with the configurator.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/mclaren/600lt/coupe/3...

Thanks! Can’t believe I never thought of Autotrader: show case of ultimate daftness....!Juno said:

Some cars make more sense to buy new and other used..The 458 i bought 5 months ago had been specced to the hilt by the original owner exactly the way i like it..All the Carbon outside including the rear diffuser and front splitter, C/F everywhere inside and alcantara race seats, roof and carpets etc plus factory painted Nero roof. .It must have set the original owner back £230K which is approx £100K more than what i paid for it..I couldn't see that you could leave off things like Carbon Packs etc on the 600LT.

The new RS i'm getting is what i've wanted since i placed an LOI with my OPC when i picked up my GT4 back in November 2015..I never pushed for the first batch because i only wanted a WP RS with Titaniun cage and Magnesium wheels.
The new 992GT3 i expect will be the equal to the 991.2GT3 RS which is pretty typical of Porsche..They make small incremental steps forward with every successive generation, to balance between retaining good residuals and at the same time getting people to upgrade..Its a winning formula IMO and why Porsche is by far the most profitable car maker in the world by unit..
Its a win win for Porsche AG,OPCs and customers alike..The only ones who are upset by this business model are the ones outside who only want the halo cars but turn their noses at the normal everyday Porsches that depreciate like normal cars..
To coin a phrase 'No pain ,No gain'..!

Completely agree with you. its a good job we like the other models they sell as the pain is real, but the gain far outweights. The new RS i'm getting is what i've wanted since i placed an LOI with my OPC when i picked up my GT4 back in November 2015..I never pushed for the first batch because i only wanted a WP RS with Titaniun cage and Magnesium wheels.

Mclaren for me is a itch i would like to scratch in the form of a 675LT, and now seems the right time to buy a Coupe, ironically, i have a good pal that is a main sales guy for a Mc dealer who is always dangling a carrot to get my business, i suppose i havnt bought one is because i was in there one day when a guy was selling his 720s back to them after buying from them for new for £275k, after 6 months he lost £110k! he took the car on finance at some silly payment of like £3k a month, i saw the guy in a P OPC and he was telling me he basically have thrown the £110k down the drain as that was his car fund that he used for deposits for the finance!, Previously he told me how he had only bought Porsches and that with his 110K he could duck in and out of Porsche as and when he liked and would only loose a small % in doing so..... i could see on is face that it was upsetting for him as he was explain the situation, he said, and i quote 'ill never buy a Mclaren again....... True story

Well he will never buy a McLaren again because they've relieved him of all his money!
I don't think they are a patch on Ferrari in the desirability stakes.
So to get this thread back on topic, how many 991.2 GT3 owners are considering the 992? Provided Porsche will let you have one of course

And provided they don’t cost us 110K in 6 months🤣. I have to say although when one reads reviews, McLaren are a very attractive proposition and I think the brand can be praised for having achieved such a strong position in the sport car market... even if they were not so bad on holding value, I would not go for one. Porsche GT all the way: there is something old school in the 991 GTs that make them special!I don't think they are a patch on Ferrari in the desirability stakes.

I'm happy you like Ferraris..Next time we meet up i'll bring my 458 to whet your appetite even more so..I don't think they are a patch on Ferrari in the desirability stakes.

My 991.2GT3 is going back to my OPC to make room for my new RS..Otherwise i'd have kept it to see if i got offered a 992 GT3 and then change it..
As i was so fortunate to get offered an RS i have nothing i'm really desperate to own so i'm not really thinking about the 992GT3..

I remain unconvinced the 992 will better the 991.2 in the areas which I demand essentially as a fast road car.It is hard to see especially with the killjoy regs etc how the engine in the 991.2 could be bettered in terms of power delivery induction noise and character. And mine has a stock exhaust.
In fact my only gripe with the car is the clutch is too light but I can live with that.
I have a nod for the 992 GT3 which before anyone say it’s not even been announced... I keep ahead of the game on😉 the car certainly looks to shift from the you tube clips... and come on.... Porsche don’t get it wrong, do they? Well, except I suppose the most annoyingly, stupid, not thought about brawn gear selector in the 992! Which I must add you have to click it into drive or reverse, many a time I go to drive away to have people beep at me🙈

I think we know getting an allocation is not in our hands when it comes to GT P cars or limited edition like the speedster. So as far as I am concerned I think I can’t get too excited with the 992 GT3 not because I know I won’t like it but because I fear I won’t get one.Gitana991 said:

Hi Taffy, yeah we're long overdue for a meet up. Will get something organised soon, but it might be a challenge to match those Bison burgers here in the SW!! Be great to see the 458 too.
