I thought quite the opposite.

I admire the intention but if I took that home to the missus .. she'd think I'd gone mad .. and I own two road legal race cars from the 80's and 90's ...
I wouldn’t care what my Mrs thinks. She already thinks I’m an idiot.

The problem I have is that to my eye this is pure aggression, rather than art. Driven by ??

Just makes the new 992 Sports classic look even more beautiful and stylish.
Unless you are Tim Harvey the GT3 is beyond the limits of 99 percent of porsche owners.

Most cars are beyond the limits of most people, not sure what that matters. People like them, that's good enough

Just embrace what they have created. All the comment knocking the car are pointless wastes your breath! All I see nowadays on PH is negativity

I think that Porsche has created just cause for some of the "knocking" ...

I think that some OPC's have not helped.

The sour grapes can be filtered out ... so long as there isn't fake news !

I stand by what I have said, if I had seen it as unfair I would not have written it.

If your Porsche OPC is willing to sell you one and you want to buy one to use, then I am pleased for you smile

It appears that many others who want one to use cannot buy one, and historically many Porsche cars have "more owners than miles on the clock" ... an exaggeration, I accept smile

But why has this become a recent phenomenon ?

And it's not just since Covid ....

LOL quite like that!! Who's getting one and when? I'm told 09.12.22 currently (German delivery). Any winter tyre recommendations :-)

Even Andreas Preulinger has recently said in interviews that the 992RS should only be bought by people who want to take it on track and that its too extreme looking to drive on public roads. I happen to share this view however I suspect we are in the minority. In an ideal world OPCs would only allocate the 992RS to clients who they know take their GT Porsches on track on a fairly regular basis.
Unfortunately we don't live in that world and most will be given to the usual suspects who will only keep it for a few months at most before selling it at their supplying OPC on a SOR basis.
I must admit it's really grown on me after getting over the looks and think the launch car in non WP Ice Grey Metallic and Red wheels and side decals is pretty stunning although not something I'd be happy driving down the high street.

I think there will always be flippers and collectors, though I am always impressed when I go to the NS just how many RS you see there most days. They are definitely not a rare sight.

Assuming my allocation shows up ( likely) it will be traced immediately but I would dearly love to have folding LWBs like I had on my 7.2RS. This would make the car at least minimally useful for a weekend where it would be more possible to stuff bags into it. With factory pickup I am not in a position to trailer it and I usually do 4-5000km in the first three weeks. Maybe Porsche will supply laundry chits.

Unfortunately... Flippers are endemic... its tax free cash after all.

4RS are being offered off market in the UK, now... c£220k for WP.

About the same they're selling 992GT3s then. Tough choice between the two however if pushed I'd get the GT4 RS.
