I couldn't find a thread for this.

I'm planning a road trip to Yorkshire for the last week in August with my 13yr old son.

Want to take him to Headingly for the Ashes as we'll be based in Leeds - It's all sold out - cry

Anyone have a clue as to how much it might cost from the touts outside to get in?

As an aside that CWC final was nail biting to the end smile

Can I get in early with a 5-0 whitewash by the Aussies?
They're going to be looking for blood after we destroyed them in the World Cup, and the cheats will be at the top of their game.
We simply don't stand a chance. Especially if they can somehow induce plenty of swing...

Squads announced, surprisingly Mark Wood is injured. What a shocker. Roy is in, and Archer is missing with a slight injury.

Seems reasonable, the question from Boycott must be, “can we bat all day for 57, and give them nothing ? Too much of this One Day bludy rubbish, eee modern batsman throw it away at the first ball in the corridor of uncertainty etc ad infinitude for another 20 years.’

Great news about Roy. Wood/Archer as (properly) fast bowlers not a surprise they aren’t in to me...long summer ahead and rest needed.

Not a fan of Headingley.

Don't buy from touts.

Call the ground and see what their advice is, and call again on the day(s) you fancy going. Online they were showing sold out during the World Cup and tickets were available at the ground's ticket office.

Off to watch the first day of the Ireland test on Wednesday, be interesting to see how the players perform. Some need to find their mojo again after an incredible CWC and a few looking to get their names inked in. Be great to have an incredible Ashes to build on the CWC but would also take a comfortable win!

Will be interesting to see how Stone goes. Read a good bit of background about him, another young fast bowler with plenty of injuries behind him already.

I’ve said that for the last few years, it feels like tests are becoming more like 4 one day matches back to back.

The Aussies will be out for blood and are a damn fine Test side. I'm don't think we've resolved the issues we had from the last Ashes such as batting collapses and inability to take wickets on flat pitches. Plus the Aussie bowling attack will have adapted to English conditions so the likes of Jason Roy will have to be aware of swing and movement if they are to avoid edging behind.

I do hope we win though, and that Broad and Anderson have a good series. Both are right at the end of their Test careers and it would be nice for them to finish on a high.

Some photos I took of Anderson and Broad during the 2010 Ashes. God we were awesome that year fielding a team including Cook, Trott, Pietersen, Strauss, Bell, Prior, Swann, Anderson, Broad, Finn and above all Panasar. Plus some bloke called Eoin Morgan, don't know what happened to him.

I predict several sparkling scores of 25-40 from Jason Roy.
