Hey everyone 😇

I bought a 2014 C4s 6 months ago, mint car with 12k miles and all the options bar the sports exhaust.

I really wanted it at the time but have not missed not having it (still sound great in Sports Plus mode). My warranty is up in September so I’m booked in for the 111 point check and a 2 year renewal, I’ve been quoted £1950 all in to have the exhaust retro fitted.

Is this a good price and secondly, will I get some of that back when I come to sell?

I do love the sound, but £2k is a lot of money to piss up the wall and sound like a boy racer 😂

That’s a really good price. Yes your car will always be worth a bit more with PSE.

That’s a good price I was quoted £4000 a month ago and eventually got an OPC down to £3000 although my car is a 991.2

That's a good price, I paid £1600/1700 iirc.

Definitely worth every penny for me, plus I can turn it off around town and when arriving at people's houses.

Before spending I would try to experience the pse exhaust sound first. My car has it fitted and with valves open it is not a great noise. Hard acceleration through gears gives a bbwaaa , bbwaaa , bbwaa ...after a while it becomes grating as the noise is so flat . If the valves are open around town i.e. low revs it's a loud decibel monotone drone , not nice. My last car , 3.6 , 997 with std exhaust was much more tunefull. The noise would change as the revs rose ending in a lovely high pitch wail..almost like a Ferrari..the Porsche sound is nothing like it. All my impressions are from inside the car..outside on a drive by its slightly better. Also my car needed a new exhaust recently ( lucky warranty covered) as valves were sticking open and could not be made to operate on request ..I believe not an uncommon problem. This lot only my opinion ..I know pse is a desired option ..whether it would increase the cars values by 2k who knows...good luck with your choice. Cheers.

thats a good price - had mine done last year and don't regret it - go for it.
I managed to recoup a little by selling the old exhaust tips - they are worth a fair bit to some - but the rest of the non-PSE exhaust isn't worth much - dealers have loads of them and just send them off the the scrap dealers.

I turn mine on when arriving at people's houses. jester

Personally I don't get the PSE. Noise drowns the sound of the engine.

Kind of a linked question

I’ve got a 991.1 which doesn’t have sports chrono or pse

If I retro fit pse is there any point without having sports chrono?

Will I get the burble and crackles on downshift in normal sport mode?

Don’t want to spend £2k to find it’s actually £4K because I need sports chrono too to make it sound like a hooligans car... (I want to sound like a hooligan smile )

yes there is a point without chrono - the crackles come in sport mode only, and with chrono on (sport plus mode) they are off anyway
engine note increased considerably inside and outside with it on in normal or sport mode though
but I don't care about the burbles, like the pse noise at times, and nice to be able to turn it off as it can get a bit annoying for long motorway journeys
and turn it on at times - particularly like driving down the narrow village high street with it on so I can hear the glass rattle in the house windows on the way past :-)

Well, picker her back up today and wow, just WOW!

The howl it makes past 5k rpm is just insane!

So glad I went for it, just need to sell the old system now.

PSE + race headers is what you want... sounds immense.
