how do the Dunlops fare against the Cup 2's ?
Car is a 991 GT3
currently 90% road vs Track, though that will change in spring 2020
only had Cup 2s previously, but there appears to be a stock shortage...

Porsche (or more specifically, Andreas Preuninger) claim they're very similar, with the Dunlops having slightly better wet weather grip and the Michelins having a little bit more feel around the steering centre point.

Here on PH, the Dunlops generally seem to be unloved.

I fitted a pair of the dunlops to the back of our 320d and they are much better than they goodyear that they have replaced.
However they will still skip on turning in the damp so I wouldn't of said they are the best option for a much more powerful 911

For road use theres nothing in it.

Any slight advantage the Dunlops have in the wet is lost in less durability compared to the Michelins imo.

I had those Dunlops on my GT4 and 991.2GT3 and now have the latest Michelins on my new RS..I find both are pretty good in the wet as long as the ambient temp is above 8C..The Dunlops take longer to warm up and as a result not so good when its really cold..I find the Michelins has better steering feel although this is comparing a new RS WP on Mags with a GT3..
The Michelins are better at around 30-32psi F-R whereas the Dunlops need a higher 33-35psi F-R to give their best IMO.Both are great tyres however ime i prefer the Michelins slightly.
Neither are safe when its both cold(under 7psi) and wet and if we get a prolonged cold wet winter its much better to fit MP4Ss..Unless you do a lot of Summer track work i'd choose MP4Ss are a better all rounder with much higher wear rates and improved wet performance.

so Dunlops slightly better than the Mich in the wet, but wear quicker.

What about for track use ?

I had a bugger of a time on Silverstone GP in the wet with the Mich tyres; opposite lock on many corners ! (though that may just be my driving)

I hated the Dunlops

they cannot get heat into them when it cold, and when it's hot they over heat !!! and don't hold a steady PSI !!

if they were good, manufacturers would be doing the ring records on them, they don't!!!! says it all imo.

better in the wet, not in my experience.

but then atm both are really st below 6oc anyway.

Can only speak for the cup2s and I thought they were a fantastic tyre albeit a little noisy on some road surfaces. I had my 981 gt4 PEC on a very wet cold day and the cups inspired confidence. I picked my car up on a cold damp January day and subsequently drove on cold damp days and never did the tyres worry me or the car break away due to lack of grip but then again on the road you should always drive to the conditions . Would most definitely have them again

What !...noooo...you have it wrong.

On my brand new 991GT3.2 RS/W/P, and my new 991.2 GT3...and my new Lamborghini Huracan Performante..and my new Ferrari 458 Italia coupe, and my new electric Porsche Taycan Turbo Nutter Eco edition and my new Fazer Pro Compact golf trolley, I run 30.0356 psi on Dunlops, and 30.0527 on Cups...especially from Mid march to the middle of the 3rd week October.
Ensure carbon dust caps too, can't 'beliiieeeevvee' they don't fit them as standard, especially on my brand new 991.2 RS W/P Porsche 911.

Run those pressures or the next catseye will bounce you straight out of the golf club carpark and on to the 4th fairway. I like them best. I like them a lot. I mean a lot.
