It’s a touring with no rear seats :-)
TBF you can’t really go touring with 4 people in a 911, even if it has 4 seats. I use my GTS a lot with the kids but they would not be happy driving the south of France!
but you have to have a GTS also which is daft. I had a GTS, was over rated, why drive a GTS if the Touring had 4 seats, you never would.
Now you cannot take your kids out in the touring !!

Only going what people said at the time, if only it had rear seats !! I don't have kids and hate 4 seater cars as people scam lifts from you :-)
R I'm sure I can find a previous post when you actually owned a GTS saying they were the best 911? Perhaps I'm going nuts smile

Even if the Touring had four seats I could not use it everyday. It’s VERY different from the GTS and is much too raw to be a daily driver for me. Perhaps I’m a bit soft but I love my 4 way comfort seats and PDK in the GTS. The Touring was beginning to lack purpose for me, until I drove it on a Track. It was immense and really made sense.

The GT3.2 RS is a lot more a daily driver compared to the Touring , just drove to Manchester for a meeting then on to Leeds for another .... mainly in the rain , done near 10 k miles now and is a very usable daily due to the PDK .

That’s very interesting you find the Touring too raw for dd. My only concern TBH that it is maybe too stiff/fidgety ride for normal daily type use? Shame about no rear seats too. They’re useful from time to time.

It's a combination of things that compromise it as a daily. Noise, sparse cabin, bucket seats, stiffness etc (all the things that make it brilliant). Also, I can't help but take it to 9,000 revs to hear the noise which means I end up taking twice as long to get anywhere as I find the long-way round. The other factor is the Cup tyres - they're terrible in the wet/cold.

Wow, an RS as a daily!

If i had one it would definitely not go out in the rain.

I said the 997 GTS was the best version of that era and now in manual a very sort after car.
I have never owned one.
I bought a 991 GTS because of the wonderful engine, but the 991 is a dead car to drive sadly so it lasted 2 months.

That’s just a gearbox Choice, makes it no better as a daily due to being an automatic imo, I drive daily in manuals, my brain does every thing automatically, keeps you awake if anything.
I think running cups in these conditions is not that responsible.
I have 3 cars on them and don’t think it’s that safe atm.
Would hate to have to do a 85mph stop at 3oc in the rain on a motorway as an example, so I drive a car with ps4s every day at the minute.
I got caught out in my Spyder on cup2 in bad rain was stuck on the motorway at sub 60mph, it’s not nice feeling and you even wince and can feel lift if you hit deeper water, it’s heart stopping , so best avoided at all costs imho.

Im on Dunlops and there just okay above 4c. But after 30-40min spirited driving, with some heat in them, the car feels so much different!
Manual v PDK - I loved my 991.1 GT3 PDK, now getting to know my 991.2 GT3 manual. Its so much different feel. I had spare 1-2 hours yesterday so went for a drive out. I was flicking from sport mode on and off to see how my heel and toe compared to Auto-blip. On some section I preferred doing all the work, at other I put sport on and preferred that feature. Can't really say why. I think when road was clear and twisty, I wanted to do the work, but then for some casual road section I was very happy for car to take the blip for me.
I would LOVE to do a back to back test of my car and a PDK. I suspect I would much prefer my manual but far from 100% sure so must try find someone local to me and propose it.
As with another tester, I made a detour to dual carriageway straight roads on way back purely to experience the 8000-9000rom scream more than I was able of twisty bit prior. Very fun afternoon smile

I did!. Been so conscious of over rev scenario's I didn't trust it. But I now get what your saying, going through gears at 9000 revs and full flat shift, the noise and pace is astonishing, closely followed with major time in mirrors. We don't have many camera's in our region, but you never know who's following. Although I was on a private road at the time angel

Not easy on full roads if there is a a need to come to a full stop.
We all take risks ofcourse, I prefer to have a car which stops shorter distance than the car infront.
Also it’s a pitter doing 60 or less in the rain when trucks want to over take you on the motorway, it’s not nice in a Spyder.
Racing in slicks it a leveller as all the cars would be on the same tyre.

The current Cup 2's are a lot better than the originals and as Hunter says you need to drive to the conditions, a bit more distance to the car in front a bit slower, just being sensible. I have never found the cup's a problem on my GT4 and have driven in some pretty bad storms, to be honest I did not have any problems with the original Cup's on my RS I was just careful.
Drive to the conditions taking into account you don't have a lot of tread to clear water.
