I was asked earlier would I like a new 718 GT4. If I say yes (by tomorrow) can people please help me spec it. However, I don't really need lots of extras. Ps I'm currently in a GTS

A little birdie advised me that 6 pot GTS is going to be making an appearance around March/April 20.

GTS is highly specced as is, but options really depend on what you want as an individual. Got to have rear parking sensors as a minimum, your choice of seat, cruise control, etc etc.

How much money have you got, lol.

But spec if how you want. Is it for road or track... be realistic.
Why not base it on your current GTS spec - and then change the things you don't like or wish you had, in accordance with your budget.

If you don’t want it. I’ll have it! pass my details to your OPC beer

Seriously as said spec it for what you are going to use it for and for yourself if it’s a keeper . If not spec it to what everyone else wants .

Wondering if the overs market is not there this time eg the redline car not being much more than list. Is this making people back out of orders. Can only be a good thing for people who really want one clap

Main choice if seats....if you haven’t sat in a car with buckets get yourself down to your OPC and see if you like them and try and compare the Folding Buckets and the 918 Buckets. Apart from that the next choice is PCCB or Steel’s.

Great that you’ve got a chance to get your hands on one!

Ask if you can spec it with PDK and let us know what they say.

There's a finite market for anything and the original GT4 obviously leveraged that. The more they make, the more the market gets softened. We'll look back on this in 5+ years and go ...What was that all about...

I make the spec of their car £94.4k so market is still £10.5k premium even on a car with £20k of extras....

I worked it out exactly and it comes to about £96K excluding the new car tax which is an additional £1870..Total cost about £98K which is £7k less than the Redline GT4s asking price..Apply some room for negotiation and the premium narrows down to about £5K only.

That must surely put the trade price just below list now then.......

I think this will make more people pull out of their build slots

Yup, no real overs market as we have seen before. Speculators are either going to get bitten or just pull out of build slots. Interesting times ahead with the GT4 market. Personally I think they are too expensive this time around.

I'm intrigued watching this play out and psychology at work here. If that happens, it's a classic "tipping point" in the herd thinking

It’s already happened elsewhere....Senna’s are £200k less than list. Think there are “only” 40 UK cars too. Admittedly that’s a very different price point but anyone selling a Senna with bugger all miles on it for £200k less than they paid for it was always looking to sell/flip it IMHO.

SSO of EVO fame now has a blog...wrote a good article on the £1mil plus hypercar market recently

https://karenable.com/too-much-of-a-good-thing/

Clearly that’s a long way from the Porsche GT market but there are parallels....there are an awful lot more GT cars made now than there were 10 years ago. Which is the last time the market started “reversing”.

Interesting to know on whether the new RS with Weissach Pack has actually been flipped for substantial 'overs'...If these second batch RSs don't sell for big overs then nothing will IMO..It'll confirm that the party is well and truly over for the flippers..
Another factor which is hitting 'overs' substantially is some of the huge discounts and extremely ambitious PCP deals currently being offered by McLaren and Aston Martin..It makes paying £240K for a flipped RS WP even more daft

My guess would be the OPC hasn’t written a cheque for the Nardo RS...think it’ll be on SoR. Maybe I am wrong but in current environment it’s a lot of money to tie up and dealers wouldn’t typically want to buy a car like that in Nov/Dec.
