I’ve ordered Weiss Gold Fi-R’s for my GT3 which are undoubtedly more bling and don’t have the OEM look of these...think it I had a Touring the BBS monoblocs would suit the more understated look of the car.
Horses for courses etc....
Would love to see some pictures with them on. My 991.2 GT3 is coming up for 2 years old I'm considering having the oem wheels painted Weiss gold and the calipers black with gold lettering. Horses for courses etc....

Just read whole thread as love the 991 touring- and the 991R. interesting that two of you recently sourced lhd examples at 25k under uk equivalent price. What do we think the current price difference is- ball park- between a touring and an R ?
More in the UK than in Europe....I’d say £100k here based on a guesstimate than 911 R can be bought for £280k. In Europe cars get used more ! Touring’ s are something like Eur 160k to 200k from an average spec to a PTS car. Delivery mileage R’s are Eur 300k but a Speed Yellow one with about 20k km’s on it sold for about Eur 240k relatively recently. 2010spy said:
Speaking to people buying them, the Tourings have gone up in the past few weeks (pre-corona) and I’ve seen cars selling at £170-180k. I’ve been tempted but can’t seem to let it go. Will a 992 be ‘better’. Shiny. New. Toy. Vs past master.
the 992 touring will be a hard one, as Porsche will make the real GT3 faster than the outgoing RS.every new Sports car has more downforce, not a lot they can do with a touring. But the normal car has had massive gains in those area's
I still find the model a very odd thing to own. (it needed rear seats)

The standard 992 C2s is about a match for a 991.2GT3 over a few laps, so I would expect the 992 GT3 to be quite some car. I would not write off the 992 Touring just yet from a down force point, based on the ring spy video's it looks to have an S duct on the front and a large active aero wing on the rear. every new Sports car has more downforce, not a lot they can do with a touring. yes some finished shots on the touring now, the issue with the active wings is extra drag vs the swan type wings.Porsche911R said:

Also I am not sure I’ve ever felt on the toad my 991.2 GT3 has ever lacked grip and I am not sure the no doubt increased grip levels in the 992 are going to add to the driving experience on the road.

Here is my Touring’s stablemate- no fixed aero on her, just active rear spoiler, not that it seems to slow it down much either....
That’s a stunner. What’s the colour? Maritime blue?I’m currently after a 993 C4S to sit alongside the Touring. I was tempted by the 70th anniversary 993 C4 in Liquid Metal Swindon had for sale a while ago, but the price was just too rich. Now it’s for sale again at Chester, for even more money. It’s a lovely looking thing, but the money is a bit silly.
