Is it replacing the GT Silver 991.2GT3 PDK or are you going to run the Touring alongside..Interesting to hear how you find the differences between the two cars as it seems to have become a highly sensitive topic..!
Taffy, the .2GT3 was worn out as it had done 10k miles and had to go. RPM sold it for me. Good guys there. A more pertinent question is is there still a place for the 7.2 CS as the Touring nicely bridges the gap between 997 and 991 GT3s. Should perhaps point out the the 991.2 was RHD PDK and the 7.2 is LHD.

They are the Platinum Magnesium alloys as fitted to the 991.2GT2 RS and GT3 RS WP cars..The reason i know is they are identical to mine..I'm assuming Yellow has already bought a GT3 RS WP but for whatever reason he wants to keep it a secret and surprise us at the RS day with a huge round of applause beerclap

You could be right on the Weiss gold..I think i can detect a few reflections of a yellow light shining on them which gives it a golden hue..No pun intended.biggrin

Poor old sherlocksmile

I also thought these seats looked great, but the seat belts clash with the exterior colour and yellow calipers and wheels.

I have a pair of yellow seat belts I’ve taken out of mine if you’re interested.

Pretty much snap.

I wanted 918 seats, PCCB’s, black, and ideally no lift. Got exactly those things on the wish list £145k back here.

There are some aftermarket BBS wheels that are very similar....as on this thread on Rennlist. Enquired about pricing but they’re more expensive than FI-R’s

They do look fantastic but they’re also according to that thread a BBS motorsport product so intended for track/competition use....no idea what that means in practice ? Maybe not ideal for potholes !

More just a question of having to go through road approval. The standard FI-R is TUV approved, the motorsport wheel wouldn't be. Doesn't mean it's necessarily any less stong but it could well be more on the 'light' side of the equation rather than 'durability'. The weight vs the FI-R wheels probably will tell you where it is in comparison I'd guess.

they also weigh more. so for the people who cannot afford mags but want to look like they have them :-)
nice wheel but the Fi-R is a better lighter wheel.

a better looking wheel imo than the mags and a safer wheel as the spokes don't goto the end of the wheel like the mags and are inboard.
So less chance of damage.
They are cheaper than the Fi-R so not sure where that's come from.

If you have the money you buy mags, if you want the best sub £8k wheel and the next lightest you buy Fi-R if you want the mag look you buy these new forged ones which do save a little weight over oem but then you buy the Fi-R if that's the goal.

great to have options.

here you can see what I mean about the spoke design on the mags, it's a risky part of the wheel to be sticking out more, so care when parking needed.

The BBS WEC wheels from Manthey are Magnesium... these will be TUV approved as MR only sell TUV approved part for road cars...these are 7 spoke for GT2/3 RS.

MR also do a wheel for the GT3...in Magnesium - 6 spoke - which is what JC has.

The RL thread wheel based on 7 spoke design in forged aluminium, also now available in GT3 sizes.

I wonder if the yellow seat belts would fit a GT4? I always fancied yellow ones in mine. I guess they cam out of a GT3?

Are you sure about that?
Yep.. as part of their partnership and part ownership by Porsche.
The package parts they sell need to be TuV approved in order to retain warranty, in Germany.

I'm talking specifically about their 'Road-Racing' packages.

I’ve ordered Weiss Gold Fi-R’s for my GT3 which are undoubtedly more bling and don’t have the OEM look of these...think it I had a Touring the BBS monoblocs would suit the more understated look of the car.

Horses for courses etc....
