991 Sports Exhaust Actuator Fault

Noticed the PSE on my 2015 991 is staying in the load position. On investigation I see one of the actuator arms has snapped, does anyone know if it’s an easy fix or do I need to replace the whole unit?

I’ve just purchased an Akrapovic rear silencer box and so I’ll have a PSE unit that I could sell on if you need a replacement.

When you say the actuator arm has snapped, do you mean the short crank arm which is attached to the flap spindle? I've not heard of these snapping, though I know the flap spindles are prone to seizing.

Thanks Grantstown, much appreciated , not seeing any replies saying it’s an easy fix! So a replacement may be my only option. I’ll come back to you if I go down that route.
As much as I love the PSE it does drown a bit on the motorway.

It’s the short rod that comes out of the actuator to the pivot assembly on the flap valve. Without taking it off it appears the threaded section Of the rod has snapped/sheared.

Looking at your posted photo on the link, the rod has snapped just before the ball joint, but only on one side. The flapper valve it’s self is free moving and not seized as you can move it easily by hand.

If it's just the rod that's snapped, the worst case should only be the actuator needs replacing (the Porsche parts diagram calls it a vacuum unit) but you might be able to repair the rod if you've got good workshop facilities.

I’ve had a look at your picture and noted that it’s a 991.1. It’s actually a 991.2 PSE system that I have so unfortunately it’s not suitable. Good luck with getting it sorted out.

Came off my 991.1 C4s with 14k miles.

Thanks for the offer Gilford, don’t get me wrong I love the PSE, it makes the car special especially with it being a manual car, you can play some great tunes with it. Deep bellow at low revs and a mental scream at the top end.
The drone I,m referring to when it’s stuck in loud mode, is only on a motorway. when the switch is working you have best of both worlds making it a great cruiser as well.
