Chaps..... what’s the best way to remove the towing eye cover without chipping the paint?

Hats off to you, nice driving. Is the roof carbon fibre as otherwise you certainly lost a lot of weight just taking the carpets out.

No roof is standard, just a black wrap. I lost 43kgs by losing all carpet, airbags, and trim inside car, as well as front boot.

Back on the market again! 10k cheaper than last time if I recall correctly.
I wonder why it's here again?

Would appear to be a lot of car for the money. Great price. Is there a story with it then?

Same price I think, or maybe same price it was reduced to just before selling. No stories with this one IIRC

Yeah, Ashgoods had it on for £100k for a while and dumped it to £90k about 2/3 months ago. It sold within days. ....wonder what Ashgoods bought it back for ??

How strange, I thought the 996RS was up to about £140k-£150k at its peak. Was I wrong?

Fabulous. I've not driven much at Spa and then in the dry. How does the grip vary between the curby-apex dry line and the wider line that the car in front was using?|

Wow GBP 90,000 and no stories it is surely a bargin.

No you are right because I remember seeing the phenomenal rise in prices and thinking I should have bought the one I test drove which was at 30,000 miles and priced at GBP 60,000. If I had the spare cash this would be mine.

It's a bit like the one that went at auction recently (996 GT3 RS with red script) for around that the other day (it had a tiny bit of 'missing' history). A sign of the times perhaps.

I am guessing the buyer found it too track focused (if it is not a financial move).

I really enjoyed mine. I only drove it on the road and had a blast. Sold it at 22k miles and £60k in about 2010.

I'm sorely tempted but may lose a testicle courtesy of the misses as I already have 5 vehicles and she wants a new kitchen.

I think this one is high mileage, well relatively. I’m sure they’ve generally come off the peak but this is on outlier. No (regular) collector will be interested and if you want one to use, why pay the premium for the RS when you can buy a GT3 and mod it to better than RS spec for less money

Edited to add: i would quite like it smile

It does read that way...

But to avoid any conspiracies, i've just bought a 997.2 so no itch for a 996 (road car...)

Well I guess it was a bit more slippery on the curby bit however it is the shorter line in the end. I needed every advantage I could get to catch him! Lol!

Also, looking at it, you were often positioning the car to be out of the rooster of spray, to enable you to maintain better visibility and stay on the gas.

I have to say, the Audi driver was a little bit unsporting - if I;d had someone that close behind for a few laps, I'd have let them past a.) because I'd suspect they might be quicker anyway, but b.) it'd be fun switching places to follow for a bit.
