Hi all

Been quoted the thicker end of £1,900 for replacement discs and pads for my 991.1 s cab by my local OPC

This seems ridiculous!!

Any suggestions as to how to get OEM parts cheaper or perhaps non OEM alternatives?

Hoping that I should be able to halve the quote above

Thanks

Just had a look at ECP and looking around £550 for discs/pads all round with ATE/Textar/Brembo stuff. Not suggesting that’s what you should buy of course but those are the retail prices of decent branded parts. Find a decent indy, maybe a similar parts cost plus a couple of hours labour. Probably get change from £800. Worth getting the indy to price up genuine parts as well.

One reason for part of the higher OPC costs may be the use of new caliper bolts and wear sensors all round as a matter of course, possibly some other fastenings as well.
Wear sensors can often be reused if you're careful taking them off, Porsche don't recommend reusing caliper bolts but not sure if many people actually replace with new ones or not.

To save a big chunk of money, buy the rear discs from carparts4less. The ones you want are Sebro.

They are normally under £100 each with discount codes, and are indistinguishable from genuine Porsche ones.

Anyone know what brand the standard front discs and front/rear pads are?

Textar brake pads and Sebro discs are the OE supplied parts.
