992 GT3 - Will they be Obtainable?
Discussion
Wonder what people think the market/order book will look like when the new GT3 is released late this year?
I suspect the speculator brigade won’t be seen for dust as overs are hopefully a thing of the past and possibly many enthusiasts will not go through as they won’t be in a position to do so. Or will the cars actually be oversubscribed as usual....?

You really think stuff like this will change, nothing against the dealer as I’ve heard he’s a top bloke

Porsche will guage the revised demand in the prevailing economic circumstances and build the relevant number of cars to keep the UK market on heat, so to speak. The pricing will be interesting but reckon on around min £150k for a decent specced up car so quite an increase ££.
As previously mentioned many existing 991.2 GT3 owners on here including myself which see this car as the pinnacle have already rejected build slots for the 992 for obvious reasons already discussed.
I think they’ll be obtainable personally if they do get launched this year though I would think that’s very much in doubt. I am sure lots of the preferred OPC customers who got GT4 allocations and would have got GT3 allocations will be thinking twice. From what people have said on here there have been quite a few cancelled orders for GT4’s and that was before the current situation !

Only 2-3 as I recall, but there were definitely some.Like last time, I think there wont be enough GT3s to go around. I don't think your average GT3 buyer is going to be massively affected by a 2-3 month economic pause.

They will be ‘Obtainable’ with the usual ‘Overs’ mark-up but I think many 2nd overs have been burnt and they are not seen as the ‘investments’ they once were.
For example, the 1st flipped 991.1 GT3 went for near £200k, they are touching £86k now.
The first flipped 991.1 GT3RS (comfort) was flipped for £270k(advertised for £295k).
The first flipped 991.1 GT3RS CS sold for over £300k, you can pick a CS up for £140k now....£122k for one that’s been used.
Not too sure on 991.2 GT3 prices but I think they were going for circa £180k.......they are now circa £118k.
It’s looking like the investment aspect has gone, which will just leave the few that don’t get an allocation, that are prepared to pay overs to get the car they want to drive(not as an investment).....I see this being a lot smaller number than with previous GT releases over the past 7 years.
Hopefully, normal depreciation will then return and cascade down onto the older models. Then we can revert to people that want a GT3 to drive and use on Trackdays, being able to afford one.
I count myself in that category, so may be biased in my ‘hopeful view’ on things, but fingers crossed, that’s the way it’s going.
I’ll then be able to get my hands on a lowly 997.1 GT3 and drive the knackers off it on track.....what it was design for.

I would think that the world has changed for the better and normal buyers will have a good shot at buying one. I have been a regular 3RS buyer and paid list for all of them and never flipped, just drove the hell out of them.
I expect I will add in a 992RS, but only if I get an allocation . My sense is that it will be easier than ever. I have put my name down for one and my dealer is quite confident it will be fine,.
I am not an investor or flipper and would be very happy to see them leave all the stupid high prices behind.

DappaD, I think you may be right if I’m being honest. The way you have presented it above clearly shows the direction most car values are falling. Many will now tread carefully before purchasing second or third cars which are technically just toys. For example, the 1st flipped 991.1 GT3 went for near £200k, they are touching £86k now.
The first flipped 991.1 GT3RS (comfort) was flipped for £270k(advertised for £295k).

5 - I was offered one yesterday for immediate delivery . Turned it down as I'm not happy to even pay list for a Spec that wasn't my choice ..... mainly as comfort .
Immediate delivery on a 992 GT3 - where are you based? Its fairly easy to get an order in New Zealand at list price, and Im sure it will get easier soon...
I have a deposited confirmed allocation for one on the first shipment to NZ (not sure when now, maybe Q1 2021?) but my business (Tourism) has been significantly impacted by Covid-19 and Im not sure I will be in a position to trade my 991.2 GT3CS 6spd on one (its done 24,000 miles many of them on the track!). The change over will likely be ugly as I expect the 992 GT3 with its CF hood and upragded specifications will be at least 10-12% higher at retail than the 991.2. Also I will likely have to make dramatic changes to my team/business and in a small community its not the best look if Im honest.
The 992 is looking good going by the Ring footage from this week. The new S ducts feature on the tourig and winged version. Expect a similar leap in performance as was between 997.2 and 991.1 GT3. I think they have put alot of work into future proofing the GT3 track credentials for a while...

If your business is in Hospo, accomodation or is in someway linked to international visitors and general tourism you are looking at a P&L wipe out this and all of next. This event will change the way we travel well into the future and Island nations like NZ and UK will not see the free movement of folk across the boarders until well after a vaccine has been implimented if indeed an effective one can be found.
Its not just the above busineeses that will suffer and many will fold, its also all the industries that supply those businesses. For example on of my suppliers is already on his knees because the three large hotel chains he supplies bathroom consumerables for has shut its doors until October.
Of course there are many in the finance and IT secord who will be untouched and also some that make very good from this chaos but the effects will have long reach and be felt for at least 18-24 months probably more...
