Does anyone have experience of the acoustic / light-weight glass specifically on the 992? road noise is an issue on crappy UK motorway surfaces in these cars and if it gave some relief (even -15/20%) it would be worthwhile. Dealer says to skip it but I'm not so sure.
Ive not seen a reply against this, so I thought Id raise it again as Id also love to hear any experiences...?I thought the C2 was a great car, all bar a lack of grunt at higher speeds - dropping down a couple of gears at 60/70 produced not much more than a lot of noise I felt, and I sold it because of this - should have got the S. It's certainly involving though if that is what you are looking for. I think I would spec the glass too next time, as there is a lot of road noise, but that may be transmitted through the cabin anyway from the tyres. 14/18 ways seat essential for the tall person as it gives you tilt in the seat base. Not sure about the stereo - there is a lot of noise to deal with, but I wouldn't buy without Bose. Dimming mirrors/folding mirrors absolutely. Everything else a matter of taste. All the driving tech more important on a Taycan/Cayenne/Panamera which really are more about long journeys.
For me the car seems to be very road surface dependant. Going round the M25 some sections its super loud in the car and clearly the noise is transmitted through the rear wheel wells. I came out of a C63S Coupe and this thing is much louder in comparison....but once you hit better roads it quietens down on a cruise. Its a sports car so I expected a bit of this, I just don't see how the glass will cut down on this noise as its being transmitted through the body, the glass would only quieten ambient noise outside the car (other road traffic).

Agree, I try to avoid lots of motorways but the noise seem to be from the arches, not sure how much the glass would help. On euro smooth roads I can see it being a benefit bit not on ours. Even the odd bit of gravel sounds like its entered the cabin sometimes. You either turn the music or the revs up...Edited by jdwoodbury on Wednesday 3rd March 16:48
Still loving my stripper spec 911.
It is super quick and amazingly, has retained at lease 84% of its value. I know that because I have live offers on the table from the trade.
It is now just over 1 year old with 15k on the clock.
Just put new rear shoes on the back at £240 a corner (OE spec P-Zeros).
I say "at least" because the dealer who made me the highest offer would sell it for at least another £5k more, so I might do better privately.
I think I will keep it. I would only buy another one anyway.

Yes, the depreciation was not really part of my reasoning for buying it.
Turns out to be cheaper to run than my Tesla Model S.
The cheapest 992 for sale second hand on Ebay is just under £90k.
I think Porsche had supply problems mid year with Covid effecting production for a while.
That could be part of it.
On the other hand, maybe they hold their value because they are very good indeed.

Politeperson........
Did you get a price from WBAC? I wondered how they compare to OPCs/wherever you've got your prices from.
Out of interest I got a price from WBAC recently and was quite pleasantly surprised. Exactly like you, it was worth 84% of what I paid (C2S, low-mid spec, 18 months old, 3800 miles).
That Aventurine Green looks great, which interior colour did you choose to go with that?

I recently bought a used black on black C4S 992 to replace my much loved but ailing 991.2 C2S. I have gained 4wd and rear wheel steering both of which I would not have specced from new, considering them completely unnecessary on a 911. However, I am really enjoying having both albeit that they slightly change the character of the car. There is no longer that feeling of settling on its haunches before launching forward, it just takes off all-square without drama. The 992 is notably faster than the 991 so 4wd makes more of a difference. The biggest difference, however, is the enhanced agility brought by the RWS which makes it feel more like a mid-engined car.
You don’t need either but they definitely enhance the experience not that the 911 purists would agree.
Beyond that, I don’t miss the front axle lift and strangely the Bose. The standard system is not that bad and given the level of road noise, which I sometimes think is even worse than in the 991, a good stereo system is a bit of a waste.

Hi, thanks.
I do like Adventurine. Its a bit like metallic US Army olive drab. Quit unusual.
My offers are from Porsche main dealers.
The main selling point about my car would be it would become the cheapest one in the country I would think.
I chose Sportex seats (like the old shark-tooth) with chalk stitching. Pretty retro!
I had had 30 years of leather. Bit tired if it.
I would have exactly the same seats again.

RWD is perfectly ok in the 991.2 GTS which is slightly faster than the 992s You don’t need either but they definitely enhance the experience not that the 911 purists would agree.

Agree front axel lift is mostly unnecessary in a non GT car hardly need mine
Stereo wise the BM is great would recommend it’s a lot better than Bose and the gap from base to Bose is quite a bit less than Bose to BM
Bucket seats are great v comfy for buckets but give great support and make the car overall feel a lot more sport and less GT inside IMO
