Hello Chaps
Does anyone know the correct toe-in setting for a wedge? As the handbook I've got states 3.2mm +/- 1.5mm which I've had it set to and it still crabs left. I have to say the 1.5mm tolerance seems a bit a on the large side, also the handbook also calls for 4.5mm toe-in on the rear which also seems quite a lot. Can anyone confirm these figures?

Are your tyres worn unevenly? It might be worth swapping them around. Have you got a worn bushes or joints in the steering?

I would suggest you give Mark a call at Towerview to confirm the settings.

Sounds right , Crabbing can be caused by road camber so might be worth searching out some different roads.

The figures I have just had my 350i set up on are:

FRONT
Toe-in: 3.2mm +/-1.5mm
Camber: 0 Deg. +/-0.5 Deg.
Castor: 3.5 +/-0.5 Deg
Kingpin Angle: 6 Deg.

REAR
Toe-in: 4.5 +/-1.5mm
Camber: 0.5Deg. +/-0.5 Deg

Front tyres 22psi Rear 20 psi

Handles like a dream!! (although I suspect the new springs and shocks are also playing a big part.)

Is it a pre-'A-frame' chassis, cos I seem to recall my Tasmin doing funny things until I replaced the trailing arm pivot bushes. Mind you it did funny things afterwards as well... ;-)

Tower view quoted me the following figures:
0-0.3° Toe-in Front
2-3°Toe-in rear
I've since had it revised to this and it's much better , far less camber sensitivity etc etc.

Is the rear tow-in adjustable?

It is on trailing arm cars by altering the number of washers between the trailing arm and pivot.
