To save a battle going on and confusing the hell out of the cayman thread thus argument started on ( and is still raging on)
I have created anew thread to continue this debate
Must admit I find it interesting how different people see issues such as
Spec, No. Owners, Lift, Ceramic, Buckets etc

So far this is the best spec 991.2 GT3 car found but apparently it is not the correct spec

If I was buying a 991.2 GT3 I would want ‘road’ spec.
So, ideally, it would be a Touring, but they still have too much of a premium, although I expect this to normalise when the 992 GT3 Touring arrives in the coming months.

In the meantime, if I had to have one with the big wing, it would be manual or PDK - both have their merits, PCCBs - I think the benefits elevate a Porsche at this level, Heated Sports Seats - more adjustment, comfort and practicality for regular use, Cruise, decent lights and sound.

I haven’t followed prices, so no idea what the true bottom line might be, but I would have thought that winter, future uncertainties (covid, brexit, economy) and the forthcoming new model will see prices soften.

Oh, and mine would not have any of the ‘halfords’ stripes.

I don’t think owners really matters for a GT3...one per year is probably about “normal”

If you want what the market sees as decent spec

Must have’s

PCCB’s
Lift
LED Lights
918 Buckets (possibly folding buckets are okay but 918 buckets are more desirable)
Clubsport

Plus a few others things like Bose, Leather, DAB, Dimming Mirrors, Sports Chrono (OPC’s would tell you this is a must have), Reversing Camera.

I think that’s a decent spec GT3 and would say anything over 2k miles per year is probably considered above average mileage.

Interesting as I would have thought that a GT3 would need 918 Bucket seats
Ideally for me it would be comfort seats but with rear seats . Family car during the week and fun / track car by night / weekends but for some reason you cant have a rear seats

Also why is the Touring is highly rated? Is it not just a GT3 minus wing or is there more to it. Never ever looked at them as way out my piggy bank range.

I do agree that with major economic uncertainty that prices will have to be adjusted........ but I thought that after the lockdown and some of the cars I was looking at have gone up by 10K so who knows what will happen next

It is just a GT3 minus it’s wing but there are only around 50 in the country and people love the under stared looks....I think a lot get used as daily’s.

The big difference as a driver is 918 buckets sit you lower in the car, the folding buckets are higher (I guess because of the folding mechanism) which given that the ideal driving position is to have your arse as close to the floor as possible is a very good reason to have them. I am just over 6 ft and don’t like the folding buckets because of that. Some people complain that if you have a helmet on the 918’s are too upright but I don’t find that is a problem.

I can see the attraction of comfort seats but if you want to track the car buckets are a must in my opinion.

Thanks for clarifying
I see why people go for either buckets and Comfort. I really like the buckets other than getting out of them lol
Imagine a Gt3 Touring with rear seats as well .A real sheep in wolfs clothing and perfect as a daily
I see why prices are silly if only 50 in the UK

Imo no debate to have !

Cars are valued on list price, miles and age.(in the main)
Yes some options will aid a quicker sale for sure.
And some missing options will stunt a fast sale.

Can you buy a GT3 for £120k , yes £115k even.

Can you buy a del miles, manual , PCCB, CS , LED, lift car with all the spec on a 18 plate, for £120k NO.

Debate over.

Even the CC auction big spec manual car went for big money was that also £135k in a auction !
You don’t get people on the Ferrari forum moaning a £200k car is £135k !!! It’s a stupid debate.

As for right spec, that’s easy the spec YOU want.
As for this thread close it down it’s stupid.

It’s also interesting that the ones which are by far the most valuable touring spec, appear to be getting used a daily drivers and enjoyed and still retaining very strong money. Touring specs also seem to sell pretty quick to.

If the 992 gt3 touring is available early on, I can see it being a popular usable choice for the ones who enjoy the regular road miles.

Silly question but why would you want a del miles 18 plate car that has been sitting around for 2-3 years. It really foes nothing but harm them. Better to have a car that as some kind of regular use surely
Plus the difference between del miles and average miles is only about 4-6k for a 2018 car so hardly worth getting worked up about
Lastly I you find and buy a del miles car and then god forbid you use it you will lose the premium you have paid for the del miles , so again surely worth buying a used average miles car and using it ?

No, as already confirmed.

Cheapest OPC car is 5k miler PDK at £135k. No manuals.

Only 2 2018 OPC cars come anywhere near the spec and criteria previously discussed one is £135k the other £138k but neither of these are 1 owner one being 3 owners the other 2 owners.

Both cars are PDK there are no suitable manuals in the OPC network.

Also the black car hasn't even got extended leather and rather tacky non standard seats.

Another example of a nice usable 991.2 gt3 cs, this one is manual has 918 seats / club sport and led lights, it’s a late 2017 car so low mileage as well.

Debate over!

Similar to the red one.

Pushing 8k mile early run 2017 part ex car outside Porsche franchise with steel brakes and no lift. Not 1 owner.

Still at premium over list price ££.

I presume as its an independent that the Porsche warranty will not be included in the sale ?

One mans decent spec is another mans poison (918 seats for example are complete no go for some people who have experienced them ,some prefer steel to ceramics, some prefer pdk to manual ) ,but assuming one is willing to buy from a non franchise dealer or privately then yes you can buy a nice car for 120 .
It may not have what a few ‘gurus’ on here deem as ideal but there’s no such thing as a bad spec really .
Mega cars regardless of spec .

If dealers are ‘asking’ £120k, what are the outgoing owners getting for trade-in?
Surely the ‘best buy’ is a private purchase of a car, still under Warranty, for significantly less?
