Based on a video i saw last night it seems bloody fast. Can't wait for the 992 Touring launch as that's the one i'm more interested in. Despite my best intentions on preferring the Manual Touring i'm still finding myself drawn towards a 992 Touring PDK.

It will undoubtedly be a great car but we’re definitely in the land of marginal gains. What will be interesting to see is how the new suspension behaves on the road...AP says it is more compliant on road than the previous car and also provides more grip on track. Quite some achievement !
It will be if that is true as the .2 is exceptional on B roads, only thing I would be slightly concerned with is the 315 rears, would they tramline at speed on the road.If they don't ,my next set of tyres will be 315s as the wheels will take them no probs.

St Marks for me, and no I am not Henry.
Out of interest I am just on with building a 50 car storage facility and workshop, primarily for my fleet but with space for customer cars as well, just in case you run out of space wink

Usually a silver Sprinter van smile flying machine.
White 718 Spyder or blue R8 is the usual choice of weekend wheels.
Perhaps you me and Peeler should catch up for a pint now the pubs are open again, any excuse for a jolly over the mountain.

Stolen from Rennlist

Magic Fox

words from daniel:

GERMAN:

Guten Morgen zusammen

Breitere Spur, breitere reifen - merkt man!

Zusammenfassend:

Glückwunsch an alle die einen bekommen haben. Ihr habt alles richtig gemacht.

Es ist aktuell das beste Auto!

Macht euch keine Sorgen. Sound ist vielleicht sogar besser geworden.

Es ist ein GT3 durch und durch.

Meine Farbe wäre übrigens Silber. Sau geil.

GOOGLE TRANSLATE:

Good Morning all

The time had come yesterday. I was at Bilster Berg.

Came to the hotel on Thursday evening and met Jörg Bergmeister in the parking garage.

Long story short, at some point he just says look forward to tomorrow, that car is amazing, as I always told you.

I then: "better than my RS"

Jörg smiles and says "see you tomorrow"

I try to summarize it as compactly as possible:

Sound: no more front silencers. Elbow, Opf, ESD. That’s it.

Sound at least as good as the 991.2. Tom’s and my feelings. It's even louder.

Absolutely awesome! So nobody has to be afraid that it is too quiet.

GT3 feeling:

Maybe a tick less mechanical noise in the interior. Engine noise the same as before. Very loud in the interior.

The GT3 feeling is still there. I can reassure everyone. The suitcase has not become too "new". Seats, steering wheel, sound ... everything GT3.

Height in front was a question:

Just like 991.2. tends to be a little more ground clearance. I sat in the car with Andy P. for a long time and talked about the box and points. He would always order a lift! Just for info.

Performance:

So it is difficult for me to describe it because hardly anyone will believe it. Do you have to trust me?

Lars came to me last year and says. Buy a GT3 when it comes. I tell you. RS can't keep up.

I didn't want to admit it or couldn't believe it.

Yesterday Jörg Bergmeister drove cold out of the pits with fresh Cup2R and drove a 1.43.41 min. In the car without a fall setting (otherwise CUP2R needs around 2.2 degrees in front). So only two tenths slower than Lars Kern in the .2 GT3 RS MR with preheated tires, helmet, etc.

The front axle is extremely good! No comparison to 911.2

Wider track, wider tires - you can tell!

Steering is good. I think it gets too soft when you drive slowly. 20km / h, for example. But when you're on the move quickly. Good, hard and direct.

The car is 100% faster and better than my 991.2 GT3 MR and also than the RS MR.

Complete series only CupR on it and ne 1:43 on the BB. I didn't want to believe Luckily I was there.

G forces over 2.2

In summary:

Congratulations to everyone who got one. You did everything right.

It's the best car right now!

Do not worry. Sound may even have gotten better.

It's a GT3 through and through.

There’s a certain edge missing, isn’t there? I do feel it will be a great car, but also that we’re past peak now.
Will they be able to remove the filters with synthetic fuels? Maybe for 992.2. Be good if Porsche can avoid hybridization for 911
There's no way synthetic fuels will be available for production cars by then. As I am sure you know they're going to be used in a race series shortly

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/technology-news...

That will give proof of concept in a very public way. BUT needs mass manufacturing and effective sponsorship from many involved parties for it to become a realistic proposition on a price basis for road users. Way too expensive for the man on the street to use unless massive volume produced.

Porsche have already said there's a hybrid coming for 992.2...which "will be the most powerful 911 ever"...I assume a Turbo S on steroids.

Hi, no I never got it new and had to pay over list for it.Had 2.3k on it and 3 owners I think.Had the perfect spec I was looking for, it was on SOR up at P Perth and after a few bits of haggling over the price I secured it.Simon and his son went up to collect for me.
Dont think it was me up at Jacksons on your pick up as I would of been all over it like a rashlaughlaughlaughSeen it on the road a few times and made me feel id done right in picking the Crayon.
Mine is up at Daz on 24th May for a spruce up.
Nathan rings a bell and sure it could be him who got the RWD R8 new , that would be a great model to have.

Had both the R8 and the Spyder from new. The R8 was the first car that Jackson’s supplied on the IoM. It had to be PDI in Jersey as the workshop wasn’t finished laugh Audi sports exhaust.
Yes we met briefly when you picked up the Crayon GT4.

The front plate on the Spyder is an eBay cheapy. I bought a few with different variations on the number 7. I was trying to get closer to looking like Tom without falling foul of the law smile. My youngest is called Tom so it was just a bit of fun.
I need to replace it soon as it’s faded a bit. There was somebody on the GT4 thread that posted a link to a company who made the plates with a very slight curve on them which looked straight when stuck to the curved bumper. I thought that was a great idea and UK legal.
I much prefer a stick on plate on top of the PPF rather than the plinth and holes in the bumper.
