Is that a Pirelli?
Mine arrived at OPC yesterday, shod with Pirellis. I guessI lost the tyre lottery.
ETA…quick search show this is the first time there has been a third option… haven’t found out exactly what it is yet though…

There is global rubber shortage which is severely affecting supply hence the Pirellis is my guess. This new GT3 sounds like an absolute corker and Pirelli tyres won't affect it long term as you can simply switch to other makes. Personally i'd use the Pirellis throughout the running in period to see how you get on and then perhaps switch for MPSCs if doing some track days.
However i strongly suspect these newly developed Pirellis will turn out to be pretty impressive tyres in their own right especially if they were co-developed with Weissach's magicians.
Looking forward to reading some real owners reviews of a Manual, Steels Clubsport version.

Just got back from picking up my 18yr old son from a party and i got speaking to one of the dads. He'd just bought a Continental racing bike tyre for his son's bike and the supplier who is the UK's sole importer explained the global tyre shortages. On top of rubber shortages there is also a global shortage of polymers as its all been taken up by PPE manufacturing.
Amazing what useful info you pick up when fetching teens home from parties..

Yes. I have a friend who runs a firm which makes antibacterial materials (for shopping bags, cool bags, gym kit etc.) and she was talking about this issue a month or so back. Very much the case that an unintended consequence of all the PPE (how much of it was/is needed is debatable) is an acute supply shortage of polymers.Amazing what useful info you pick up when fetching teens home from parties..

Corsa, be interested to see if they are N rated .Not good at all if they are……

The Corsa was not a bad tyre btw, worked ok on road/track
Have to disagree. The older corsa that I used was pretty dire, it was a very poor halfway attempt between the pzero and the trofeo and bad at both compromises. To be fair, that was also the older corsa that I used, that one pictured is the new corsa introduced a few years ago and presumably a better tyre. Or so one would hope....
I’d be surprised if Porsche would sell a new car like this, with non-rated tyres, and as per press releases... Pirelli is a 3rd supplier for GT3
It was the tread pattern that initially caught my attention on the Touring spy shot... I then thought... that doesn’t look like a Cup2/Race Maxx track/sport biased tread pattern or even a MPS4S... then I tried to look at the side wall marking and it looked like Pirelli... but again tread pattern is not Trofeo R.

If you go to the configurator on the GT3, go to wheels, then click the tyre, you will get the tyre label set for the approved tyres.
The tyres are N rated, and P zeros are on the list.......
I'm not saying the tyre pictured IS A P Zero, just that some cars may come through with them.
Probably my car now I have mentioned it.....
