Thanks

Wheels, I love silver, I will coat them in a sealer to help with brake dust. I have my own car lift so wheels will be on and off very easily to clean
Just before you commit - just look at this - looks epic - I just can't see silver wheels on a white car looking better than this - silver on another colour would be better...

Looks great I always spec sat plat wheels on my Porsche GTs half of which are white.

Silver with white can look insipid you need greater contrast but as usual each to their own.

Possibly Taffy but I remain unconvinced about the sound v the 991.2 but I am sure that will be able to be addressed if necessary and look forward like you to more owners reviews following Apollos. As you rightly say the fact that it will be the last n.a. GT3 carries some kudos even though the looks particularly the rear end as already mentioned are disappointing imo and having had a 991.2 manual from new this would take some beating as imo it is the sweetspot on many levels and then some.

Have actually been offered a build slot for next year subject to numbers it appears info on 2022 builds will be likely around new year. Interesting there appear to be fewer 'strings' attached to secure one this time compared to the 991.2. Looks like there could well be c700 UK cars in total so not a vast increase.

Be interesting also to see the build numbers of winged cars v Tourings also any pricing difference as this time the Touring will be a separate model entirely not an option as on the 991.2. Whether the popularity of used 991.2 Tourings will be reflected in Porsche capitalising and charging a premium new for the 992 remains to be seen but if not I would reckon the Touring will be the most popular and the winged car possibly the halo model with fewer build numbers so this car could be the "sleeper' this time around.

Has any of the lucky prospective owners of the new GT3 been encouraged / expected to purchase the "watch" by their OPC
and if so do they intend to keep it & has it a second hand market value?

Is the watch not viewed as something to be passed on to ones next generation along with the car hence it should be kept in the glove box at all times and never parted from the car. Never forget we are mere custodians not actual owners of these fine objects. biggrin:

Probably worth about £100 max used btw.

Heads-up for those of you interested in a Touring:

Just got a call from my OPC. Order books should open coming Wednesday. They expect very limited numbers and delivery only in 2022. Will most likely get an order in and take it from there

I saw my first 992 GT3 in the flesh today and imho the touring is going to look awesome! Good luck to the lucky few who secure one.

Do you think I've over-priced it?

I cant see anywhere that number. Approximately 120 to be delivered this year so far, with no more build slots looking likely for this year.

With more lockdowns and new covid variants for late 2021 and 2022 its unlikely you will see 300 cars next year imv, never mind 600 more!

Doubtful bearing in mind Porsche have knocked out c450 GT4s so far during Covid and all the other headwinds facing all car manufacturers atm and over the last c 18 months.

They will want to maximise the excellent branding exercise the new GT3 will give them in the current challenging climate and the crucial question will undoubtedly be how long the production run will be for although this will probably run for the usual c2 years.. They will want to catch up next year so c350 cars for 2022 and c230 for 2023 looks about right.

Didn’t know they were a supplier this time around…. What is it?

ETA…quick search show this is the first time there has been a third option… haven’t found out exactly what it is yet though…

Not sure to be honest. Didn’t look much past Pirelli.

There is global rubber shortage which is severely affecting supply hence the Pirellis is my guess. This new GT3 sounds like an absolute corker and Pirelli tyres won't affect it long term as you can simply switch to other makes. Personally i'd use the Pirellis throughout the running in period to see how you get on and then perhaps switch for MPSCs if doing some track days.
However i strongly suspect these newly developed Pirellis will turn out to be pretty impressive tyres in their own right especially if they were co-developed with Weissach's magicians.
Looking forward to reading some real owners reviews of a Manual, Steels Clubsport version.
