I know AP is a marketing man, but a simple comparison of the size of the spoiler left after removing the wing vs the electric spolier on the Touring would indicate that the Touring's downforce will be much higher at speed.
Not sure I'd be whipping off the wing and burning round a track or an Autobahn...

I’m coming from a 991.1 Touring and I am very surprised as to how good this looks. Porsche are good at evolution.
Ditto. Really chuffed on the way it looks. Really looking forward to picking mine up sometime later in the year or start of 2022. Enquired today on whether i could get it in PTS, maybe wishful thinking but no harm in asking.!Heart says Manual but Head says PDK.!

I thought briefly about doing this to my 997 RS, but in the end do think it would likely have an impact on the cat’s balance at high speeds (and no TÜV and as a result no insurance ....). I suspect if you take off the front splitter it will be better balanced. Removing the rear wing has less impact on older cars with less wing downforce. In any event even if removing the wing on a 992 dropped 100kg or more downforce off one end, whilst it would change the balance slightly the car is not going to fly off the road, it'll still have plenty of grip.
I removed the rear wing on my 996 GT2 and did over 200mph several times, even braking very hard at that speed at Bruntingthorpe the car was perfectly stable. It would probably have dropped a bit off lap times, but I didn't notice it.
Remember a full vs empty tank changes the front axle weight by 63 kg in a big tank (lhd) GT3 and no-one ever complains about the effect on balance/handling.

I was told by my OPC yesterday that they had received a communication from Porsche saying there would be no Tourings delivered to the UK this year, I'll be very interested if anyone has any conflicting info.
As it's just an option package that means there are no more GT3 build slots allocated to the UK for 2021, which is what we already knew I think.jh001 said:

My OPC confirmed this - at least for the continent. Delivery 2022. Hence I'd be surprised the UK got any Tourings earlier
I believe this is correct in that no 992GT3 Tourings will be delivered in the UK before 2022. Like you i'm in no hurry so more than happy to wait especially if i get a PTS slot.Taffy66 said:

Good find - enjoyed that Makes a difference when you get a couple of guys just being themselves rather than the fake crap some of them put out there.
Definitely warming to the new GT3 now. I would go as far to say it actually looks stunning in that video. Must be the colour. Interesting he says the sound is still good but maybe less full bodied. Surely the most desirable new car on sale

I agree in that the new GT3 is a grower and most people are really warming to it. Personally i think the new Touring in Manual and LWBS in a PTS dark green is currently my favourite new car and by a huge margin. There is nothing i don't like about it even the way it looks.Makes a difference when you get a couple of guys just being themselves rather than the fake crap some of them put out there.

We must catch up sometime this year for a chinwag.

Aventura is a very nice Porsche green. Remember seeing a stunning 930 Turbo in it.We must catch up sometime this year for a chinwag.
Yes, we are long overdue for a meet up. I will be at Castle Combe in the 993 2nd Sept for the PCGB track day. Can't be too far from you? Really want to get the GT3 on track but everything seems booked up..
British racing green PTS looks pretty stunning with gold accents.
