Python green 992 GT3 on Ecclesall Road, Sheffield earlier this week. 911 private plate, silver alloys and steel brakes. Parked outside Lost and Found bar, it’s often there so will get pics if I get chance! Lovely spec if anyone on here!
Interesting. Was playing around with spec for my Touring. An initial play resulted into Python with Neodyne wheels and PCCB. Looked great but now I got a PTS slot, I will likely take it into a very different directionAs it seems quite quiet on here I thought I’d give another little update and thoughts on my car 1500 miles in now.
Mine is a clubsport, PDK, steel brake car.
As a road car I would have to say it’s bloody awful. It bumps creaks bashes and the interior is not as well put together as my other 991 GT3s and doesn’t ride as nicely. Now, I mainly seem to be travelling around the cotswold areas on A and B roads, motorways just amplify the poor surface noise into the cabin.
But when you hit a new smooth tarmac section it is fine.
I’m running Goodyear SSport R tyres and now at last I have found the section in the masses of touch screens PCM system to reduce pressures down to 28f and 30r without the TPM sending error messages constantly and that has massively helped the drive.
I still don’t like the new PCM touchscreen system.
And the constant updates and error messages on the front lift and not wearing a seatbelt when moving it etc are bloody annoying to me.
The seats are fine but I am glad to get out of them after a few hours. I think I need to improve my core stability as I do struggle in and out and make all sorts of man noises getting out!!
On track. I am no expert pro driver, I’ve done 3 track days now and it’s lovely. Can’t complain at all. Apart from the steel brakes. They’re fine, don’t seem to fade too much, they have the stopping power but the pedal has gone long once or twice..
They’re not as good as the PCCB on my other cars, but this will be upgraded soon to something else.
I purposely didn’t spec PCCB this time as I can’t stomach the thought of the costs of running PCCB on track and taking them off and changing to something else.
So will simply upgrade the steels soon.
The turn in and grip is stunning and the PDK is great as usual. It’s so good, I could argue that I prefer my old GT4 as I could learn more at a slightly easier pace and not worry about the high value of the car on track!
In my opinion, any one ordering a touring to actually drive and put some road miles on would do better going with comfort seats, manual box(the PDK is just too race like) get the tyre pressures right down.
I would hate a touring with buckets and PDK if it drives exactly like the wing car.
I have actually been all over the new touring and had some real time with one in my garage. And it appears identical apart from the wing setup.
Of course some guys maybe much younger than me and more hardcore, and love the nature of that.
My 991 touring is the one I would keep all day long over the 992 version
Anyways, only my opinion, I hope other owners post up their thoughts too

What is your thought on seating position in the 992 buckets vs 991? I have folding buckets in my 1.2 Touring. Had a sit in the 992 fixed back buckets and got the impression that seating position is somewhat more upright. The folding buckets are the most comfy seats I know of. In the 992 fixed back ones I got immediately the impression that back pain would approach rather quickly Mine is a clubsport, PDK, steel brake car.

No chance 992 GT3 sub £200k for some considerable time especially bearing in mind the delays and restrictive number of cars.
I would disagree as even at sub £200k they would be 50k above list if not more depending on spec. cheapest one on Autotrader atm is £235k for a fully loaded car from an opc and it’s not selling, hopefully no ones paying these crazy prices for one to be stung soon. It’s all greed. https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en_GB/911-GT3-MY21-4...
Fully loaded crayon car , bet they’d bite your arm off at £220k

Folding buckets are really nice to sit in and less upright, a bit tighter, would you believe lighter !! also heated now days, folding and more helmet room, easier to get in a and out a win x7 I don't get why people spec 918 style seats unless very tall or very fat. Also not nice for helmet use on track so a triple fail imo. well a 7x fail point and only 1 plus point, height adjust for tall people.DavidLankaster said:

There’s been photos of it on Autotrader for about a week mate. Also you say it’s not fully loaded tell me one option you would want that’s not there ? You say its not selling but the OPC haven't even photoed it yet so its clearly not been with them very long.

Great review and you have saved me pounds as I don't track. Had an inkling it would be firm on the road with 21 rears and wider rubber with stiffer spring rates.Mine is a clubsport, PDK, steel brake car.
