Must admit I am warming to the idea of a 992. This spec looks great also imagining it without Wing

I am strictly a wingy but that was my first thought when I spec it.
It would really work without it.

As already stated the proper winged GT3 will be the sleeper this time imo as the majority of 992 GT3 buyers having seen the Touring premiums £££ will inevitably jump on the 991.2 Touring bandwagon....... for entirely non financial reasons....of course lol. biggrin:

Could be a big mistake methinks.

I do not believe you get a choice AV. Certain nos of Touring and GT3s pre allocated to each dealer hence its the dealer deciding who gets which variant? If you can get either I'd jump on them.

Yep - this is information that seems to be doing the rounds.
Pre-allocation of each type.

Indeed a sad trend. I wanted a de-winged car since I ordered my 7.2 GT3 at the time. The 1.2 Touring finally offered what I was looking for. Could not care less about resale. I buy to keep

Deffo. This is the conversation I had with OPC. Alas, to get a Touring I would have to lose a Touring.

Listening to a Motor Trend (US car channel) journalist talking on a Podcast earlier....GT3 will be firmer ride than 991.2 GT3 which is what you would expect from the new suspension set up. He also said the Touring is going to have softer suspension that the car with the Wing.

I'm likely to get offered a Touring but not keen at letting my RS go to make the deal happen. At some point this Summer will need to decide which one to keep long term. I'll have to see if i prefer the way it looks compared to the wingy otherwise i'll pass.

Yes I know but my post was on the basis most won't be receiving a car until next Spring when the Tourings are trickling through so there should be a degree of choice especially as there may be 800 cars this time approx 400 of each. (Although judging off the much lower than expected 718 GT4 and Spydee numbers this may be wildly optimistic)

I'm not too bothered about a car this time but if one comes along next year I would go winged every time.

Hope you are keeping well btw.

I’d like this solution. Give me a 992 Touring and I will give you back a 992 or 991 at list 3 months later. Not going to happen. Cake and eat it etc etc....

A bit gutted that I'm not liking the new GT3 as it appears I could get an allocation. Just much prefer the 991.2 GT3 in every dept. Am I mad to turn this offer down but it would mean part ex'ing my 991.2??

Personally I would really struggle to sell my 991.2 before taking delivery of a 992....I suppose it depends how attached you are to the former/is it a rare spec etc. Not that I have a chance of a 992 or have even asked.

Risky to let something go early at the moment I would say. We never know if there will be another round of covid or something similar. You could give back one car only to find the new car is delayed or even cancelled unexpectedly.

I presume the suspension will be firmer on the windy one as it has to cope with 150% more downforce vs the previous generation.
With little improvement in downforce will the Touring be similar to the 991.2Touring? Same engine, just more tech.. maybe 991.2 GT3 is peak Touring!
