Having stuck up for him on more than 4 occasions, he then decided to 'go in on me' trying to tell me i was basically lying and that my 992 TurboS delivery was NOT a first batch car! even though the day after release i went in and spec'd my OPC first 3 cars that they ONLY got for their 2020 allocation!

The he tired tell me I am not a preferred OPC customer, and basically not worthy of a first batch GT3.... let alone their PTS slot!

Little does he know...
This is another example of when he was correct, but because the Info he had was" not in play" some could not deal with it, Ok I admit he did go on a bit.

FYI, the TTS was released in back March if I recall correct, shortly after OPCs had their cars to spec. But before this March release some early cars were already being specked by a few back in Feb, so whist your car was an early car it was not from the first run, like he was saying. As it turned out nothing was gained by the early cars due to lots being all stuck together at the Port, due to COVID compliance.

I'm not going to keep repeating myself as its boring... My TTS was 1 of three cars in First batch, I was given the nod I was getting one by my CP February before release, obviously NO Config was able to be done until it went live on OPC system and their allocations dropped into their system..

BTW-- My car was Stuck at the port JUST like the other in the first batch..

I don't expect you to keep repeating yourself, I am just pointing out that 911 R was correct at the time when he said that your build was not from the first batch. I can see from your post above that you were not aware of the earlier cars, they were not specked from the config and very few opinions were available but from technical point like 991R pointed out they were the first batch of UK cars. Like the PTS Slots on the 992GT3, very few OPCs were aware of these cars.

I have a singed deposited order dated Feb 19, for a TTS so do others that I know to. I and small amount of others could have had one of these small batch of Feb Build limited option spectacle cars but only the steel sun roof option was available at the time on the colour I wanted, for me the Glass roof is very important as it makes the car lighter inside. So had one to my own spec that I had del last June, that is still my daily car.

Can someone clarify which engine is in the new 992, as far as I am aware its the .2 GT3 engine that went into the Speedster and bumped up to 510hp.
It is the exact same engine along with ITBs and GPFs as fitted to the Speedster with the same 510PS. The RS WP has also got the same engine albeit with better breathing/tuning to release another 10PS or so.
thumbup to those who have the extra 10hp

I keep hearing from various people that they think production will be significantly upped for this generation but all I get is evidence to the contrary. Has anyone had this actually confirmed or from a half decent source? Personally I'd be happy if they made them like carreras and they depreciated accordingly.

There won't be a 4.2 in either the 992.1 or 992.2 at all, makes absolutely no sense. 992 gt3 as is, is getting capped at 510hp. Engine has the ability to make much more as it stands.
Gt3 rs will have 2 ram air inductions, with itb, bigger injectors (and more pressure as they have now) and a slight increase on the diameter of anything induction they will make 540-550 quite easily even with particulate filters.
These itb engines after warranty with a bit of fettling will touch 600hp no problem without getting too wild on the tuning side.

Sorry but why is having a first batch so important? And do people really care?
I tend to avoid the first batch of anything as it usually has faults that get ironed out quite quickly
But i guess it means a lot to you so I guess that is all that matters

i would imagine this is all by design, keep you guessing and interested - if it's anything like Ferrari with the Pista vs standard 488 GTB or Porsche like the previous 991 GT3/RS and GT4 they'll make more 992 GT3/RS's than they make standard 992 Carreras....smoke and mirrors my friend. one thing is clear though, Porsche won't be disclosing externally how many they plan to make, except '1 less than demand supports' etc.

Corporate greed is an unfortunate side effect when a company is publicly listed. Watch out when VAG floats Porsche.! Ferrari only got greedy with mass producing 'specials' when it went public in Oct 20th 2015.

I guess that is true and inevitable as shareholders will demand a return on investment. Look at Ferrari values and models, all over the place and not really a waiting list any more now as so many models coming out bang bang

Has anyone had experience with the Tyre's mentioned in some of the reports on the 992 GT3 being the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R's
I have run the normal Cup 2's but not the R's.Any comments appreciated.

Second point has the new Porsche Design Chronograph 911GT3 watch got a "second" hand market value ??

I hope i haven't broken any rules by mentioning it. I try and not take forums too seriously and more importantly never judge a person based purely on his/her posts. I never took offence at his posts although others seemed to take them far too seriously !.
I found him very entertaining and behind that there was a lot of very good info. This place will be very boring from now on as we all need a good laugh in these awful lonely times.
I really enjoyed his posts.
I am now retired but when active had a person who worked for me who was exactly the same and he did irritate the others ...
But as I said, you ignore **** at your peril. And this was certainly true.
IMHO he should be invited back.
I know I sometimes ruffle conventional wisdom ... but I also know how to take a break !!
If he doesn't return, I will be very surprised if we don't all miss him, in the end.

I am often surprised at how upset some people get when popular wisdom appears to be contradicted,.

The latest wp /rs has been rollered at 440bhp already i believe.

Agree.

I 'stuck up' and supported for him on several occasions when he had the piss taken by some but he appeared largely oblivious.

His overall knowledge was clearly quite profound but he was blissfully unaware of others opinions often being as valid as his own but were invariably dismissed which often caused outrage by other perhaps rather too serious posters.

I crossed him a few times on the Spyder threads but we never really fell out as many of the posts were tongue in cheek and his wild and inane ramblings were full of interesting nuggets of information if you analysed them.

His 'heal and tow' hehe retorts always amused me although bizarrely these were clearly unintentional.

He certainly livened up the forums and apart from a few posters I tend to think most of us will miss him in one way or another.

Would like to know about the tyres as well, don't think you can get them in a 305, but wonder if you can in a 315/30/20 inch, would be tempted to put them on as rims would take them no probs.

Watching the lap time comparison video's on line, it all looks like high speed corners and long straights.
I can not see the 992GT3 going any faster than the standard 991.2GT3 around Anglesey when Evo magazine or someone like them get their hands on the new car.
The slower straight-line speed will negate any difference that the increase corner stability brings to the track.
Plus, it is not a good looking car, that plastic front scope needs a quick upgrade.
