I'm definitely copying this brake caliper and wheel colour combo.

I was toying with no lettering for the subtle look but this is winning.

Did you colour the giro centre section or is that their standard bronze type finish?

Cant wait to see pic of car finished. Looks like someone else has the same idea but Gulf Orange. Saw this outside Porsche Torque.

I recall there being a couple of factory painted cars like that.

Wonderful project. Subjective obviously but I think it would look great with lobster claws.

I really wanted BBS wheels to mimic the magnesium 3 piece from the race cars. There are just none available

Wheels are subjective, but I am happy so far.

All aesthetics are subjective, personally I hate ducktails most don't.

The silver sport classics I don’t like, but they are popular and will be on eBay soon, feel free to bid if you like them.

But suggesting lobster claws? Seriously

Yep I think the 997 sits really well on them.

BBS would be awesome!

BBS in 18 would look immense. Just like the cup cars.

I'm not sure about the duck tall too. I think I'd go for the extra large carbon look full on race car spec monster wide spoiler with Porsche lettering. Loud and proud. Gold lettering against a black wing would do it. Totally unnecessary but who cares.

18s won't look right on a 997 and rubber available in those sizes not great unless Cup 2. The wheel arches on 997 huge compared to 996.

Whatever you do don’t do down the route of ordering from BBS....I bought some forged FI-R’s from them last year. BBS Germany were an absolute shambles in terms of organisation and communication. My wheels were made by the end of June but took three months to get shipped. Didn’t surprise me when I found out they had filed for bankruptcy last year....the third time in the last 15 years.

Love the build! The engine work and paint look fantastic.

I don’t personally like the wheels or the grilles painted gold and I think the seats would have been better trimmed in alcantara to match the rest of the trim pieces.

That’s all just personal preference though and taking nothing away from the effort. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Agree about the wheels, seats, grills, apart from that, looks a lovely job.

and rubber what would you specifically use in 18? Slick on a track build?

On a road car less is more if you ask me. I run 17 on my 996. 255 rear and 205 front.

Maybe fine on 996 I'd still want nicer rubber not worse on a C2S. Cup 2 or P4S. On a breathed on C2S I'd be looking for a 245 35 19 and 305 30 19 i.e. GT3 sizes. Look very cool too IMO and go perfectly well on a 997. A P4S a lovely tyre to run that car on. Very nice build. I'm so tempted with a colour change seeing this. Don't drive her into work any more so could go for a special PTS colour.

The seats may need to change, I agree, it’s hard to tell until the door cards are in and centre console is finished in carbon.

There are some decals that you will see soon. They will divide opinion.

Stunning build. Great concept and nice colours. Some items are personal. I'd choose different wheels and seats.

The seats don't look that supportive. How are they in reality?

I still think Recaro Pole positions are the aftermarket seat of choice.
