Very flaccid GT3 market. I sense more price corrections required to stimulate sales.

Thanks. I have it on one of my EVs and it's a pain in the arse, even with a single touch to turn off.
From hearsay, I believe there's a lot of these regulatory gadgets now on the 992.2 which have to be turned off and it means digging into menus, I am sure a .2 owner will clarify.

I was also told by the OPC it's a reason that .1s are more desirable, plus the centre dial is still physical.
OPC’s are telling customers their older models are more desirable? I find that a peculiar sales tactic when their job is to sell the ‘latest and greatest’.

Also very true imo.

You can’t build 1200 992 GT3 and 600 991.2 GT3 and expect them to maintain the same residuals as the 996 and 997s which were low 200 Uk production runs.
Supply and demand.
Also the older cars are built better again imo

All the generations are a slightly different in terms of the driver experience too. Speed too.

Personally, I think anything after 997 I’d definitely go quicker, but would be a lot further out of my depth.

Having been lucky enough to pax in a 3.0 RSR (cheers Yellow491) the character of cars across the eras is also very, very different. There’s no absolute best, but all are distinctive.

My thought process is the opposite, I'm much faster in something modern but I'm also much more confident in it. I'm actually quite surprised at how slow I am these days in a 996/997 GT3 compared to say five or six years ago.

That might be my lack of track driving over those five or six years but if I jumped in a PDK modern GT car, I reckon I'd be pretty fast straight away and feel pretty confident doing it.

My 992 is leagues above my 997,build quality is spot on.

For me, although I've not owned a 996 GT3 but have all the later ones, my absolute best is without doubt the 997RS . Although agree we are not all the same.

Just drove my 7.2 GT3 after quite some time again this weekend (am not driving my cars much as I am not driving much at all these days).
As much as I appreciate the newer stuff, the 997 just felt so utterly right: Wonderful steering feel, small enough to place on narrower roads, more than enough shove to enjoy B roads, pushing out of tighter corners. What's not to like

This one popped up just now, on the day after the 10 year engine warranty expired (correct me if I'm wrong on that!)

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202501137...

Suggests a price diff of 30-40k to the 991.2 cars.

There's a 991.1 at OPC South Lakes for £90k, 8,200 miles, no PCCB (one would fit PFCs anyway), standard seats, has lift.

If the car is legit Porsches warranty will be available for 15 years from first registration.

6 owners no mention of warranty at all.

History appears to be a bit haphazard wonder how many new engines its actually had and whether the current engine is the latest g series.

Last service @ Indie June 23 and only done just c1500 miles since then.

No front lift.

Looks good but 8 owners in 10 years would be a bit of a worry. Also, wish they'd state in the ads what engine gen is fitted.

Given there's an absolute minimum £5k margin, probably £7-10k these are close to £100k cars for the lower spec ones at trade. Quite a few new cars appeared recently too, people starting to panic a little about the market?

I'd say 25% odd depreciation on an 8 yr old car is pretty good rather than any market panic, Ashgoods normally price to sell, which I suspect will happen quite quickly with this one.

Absolutely they've held their value brilliantly. There's is a definite correction taking place though, the 991.2 is fighting strongly however.

Which puts more pressure on 991.1 GT3's ... although the Porsche extended warranty can be maintained to 15 years ...
