Pdk knock 30k off ,amazing, oh it aint got front lift,no ceramics etc etc,you just need a car with good brakes,goes like the wind with 3 peddles and no pcp and just smile its a good day

Going back a few gens, anyone know why this 996 GT3 is sticking around? Appreciate its got sofas but even then, it seems like an absolute bargain:

Don't know the car. From the pictures, it really does look lovely. Just one of my favourite cars ever.

I cannot see why comfort spec alone would stop the car from selling. TBF Ashgoods are pretty straight talking, as dealer go, if no one else on here knows why it's sticking, you could do worse than ask them a bit more about the car.

I agree, it looks to me as-if recent ownership has been with a collector / enthusiast and despite little use, regularly serviced.

It would be nice to know who the specialist was ... it would be nice to know that there is no bodywork in the history (other than any done by top notch repairers) ... paint thickness ... underbody inspection ... Ashgoods should be able to help with all this.

This is my exact budget. I’m hoping to pick up a 2023 onwards pdk with minimal miles. Be good to know who you financed with if you’re happy to share as that’s not a bad rate. Was it based ins putting a large amount down?

See above, and no, not deposit dependent (although doubt they’d entertain sub 10%). Indeed, that rate was only available if funding over £100k.

I know someone who has viewed it, it's supposed to be very nice with only a little front end (stone chips and splitter-NLA) needing tidying up. He was told the previous owners were the UK importers of RUF Cars UK.

Just my humble opinion as a 996 GT3 owner...

996 GT3 owners/purchasers are a small club so I don't actually believe there are that many bums for seats out there, at least until the 996 GT3 is recognised as one of the all time greats that is is and folk jump on the bandwagon (sort of unrelated but I heard on the grapevine that the next Singer will be a 996 GT3 restomod but I've seen no proof of that).

The 996.2 GT3 is also very much in the same vane as the 964 RS used to be, rather uncompromising for the road and set up for track from factory and due to that, many owners modified cars even more in line for track work making them even more uncompromising.

Then you have the spec police, a silver comfort is a rather dowdy combination for such a weekend special, Clubsports (genuine ones not cars made up from bits) in bright colours fetch good money and sell well.

In fact, the person I know who viewed this particular car was really after the best 996 Carrera he could find but was frustrated at looking at rubbish so viewed this one as an alternative. In reality, a GT3 isn't really what he wants or would enjoy driving.

Go look in the classified, if you fancy a nice standard, no stories, well spec'd 996 GT3 that has been looked after all it's life there aren't many options.

Anyone who's ever sold a classic or "niche" car knows, buyers will find almost any excuse not to buy a car. If it were me, that Ashgoods car is the wrong colour, the wrong seats and doesn't have a good service history. Your views may vary!

I agree with this ... but the 996GT3 was the start of the GT3 story, in performance terms the 996.2 was a big step up from the .1 and the first car that Preuninger (spelling ?) was involved with ... and if you like silver all of this could be a negotiation. It's been for sale for a while and it's a relatively thin market even if it may become the 964RS of its day. I owned one and apart from the odd disconcerting ping from the suspension it was my daily after a ruinous dalliance with an E46 M3CSL. Look at what's happened to them !

Recent quality maintenance is essential, it's easy to spend £10k sorting out a car with aircon / exhaust / brakes / suspension / cooling issues ... which many have had due to time and wear on radiators, bushes etc. I spent £5k on a Mk1 just out of Porsche extended warranty over 10 years ago ... but it was Zanzibar Red !
