I thought that GTS pack was eye wateringly expensive !
I didn’t include the GTS pack but went full leather with ventilated seats. Add in 18 ways, sunroof, shark blue, PCCB, RAS, Adaptive cruise and Burmester - plus a few ‘cheap’ options and I was at £135k + OTR.
Racetex headlining is even an option now.

I think the decision to stay with my Turbo S has been made for me.

The sweet spot in the mid to high end 992 range is the 992 Turbo with no options at £139k. Its got everything you need as standard with no need for expensive options plus 580PS.

See that’s where I disagree. I can barely use the 450ps in the S. I’m never wanting for power at any speed.

+1
Completely agree.
For the Track, perhaps, but for the road, especially in Britain, the best cars need to deliver their qualities at sub-3-figure speeds.

The difference between the 991.2 Manual Coupe and the 991.2 ‘T’ Manual Coupe is barely detectable - in fact I preferred the standard car on the 19” wheels on U.K. roads.

The difference between the ‘87-89 3.2 Carrera SE and the ‘Club Sport’ was more noticeable (although not night and day).

My hope would be for the 992T to follow that example more closely, and perhaps restrict the options.
Sadly, the pretty ‘narrow body’ can’t be one of them.
I mostly agree, but there was one problem with base car and that was an open differential. The T had an LSD. I bought a 991.2 base manual just before the T was launched. If I’d known I’d have gone for the T.

To sort the problem I’ve had a wavetrack LSD fitted, which has massively improved the rear axle grip and stability, especially as the car now runs at 506bhp.

Someone mentioned the 718 4.0. I haven’t tried one, but if I was in the market at the moment, this sounds like a fine fine road car indeed.

It looks to me like a whole lot of money for a 911.
You can put a lightly specced 992 OTR for less than £90k, and that would be my preference.

A 911 GTS with Aero package is a really appealing thought

Aero kit to me just say "I didn't get a GT3 allocation" or "I can't afford a GT3".

Sorry, and only my opinion, but they make me hurl

Only the biggest car nut would notice any difference whatsoever especially as they’re all wide bodied.

Your opinion (good taste IMO) is shared by many people.
Mind you, I don’t even like the GT3 with the ‘after-market looking’ spoilers. And don’t get me started on stickers rolleyes

“ Aero kit to me just say "I didn't get a GT3 allocation" or "I can't afford a GT3".”

Hmmmmm not sure it says “I can’t afford a GT3” given the price of a specced up GTS is similar to a base GT3. What it does say is “I can’t afford” or “don’t want to spaff” thousands on the depreciation of other Porsches to put me in a position where I tug my forelock to my local OPC DP to get the GT3 I would really prefer…..

100% correct, hardly anyone would notice the difference.

The car nuts will note that this is a better looking version of the GT3.
