How would you spec your 992 GTS?

Probably most likely to do with the PPF application so they can go right to the edge and overlap underneath slightly if necessary.
No doubt about that at all, but they don't leave the doors open which need the same process so seems strange to do it with the bonnet, unless somehow the water doesn't get it. Was just interested to be honest, and completely off topic, so suspect should forget about it

Are you sure that you want the red rev counter dial? I suppose it ties in with the brake callipers, but it does not tie into anything else in the cabin. (But of course order what you want; everyone has slightly different tastes).New guy here. Thanks for the great info in this thread.

Commenting on the many questions and discussion regarding the ordering process and PTS.
From my experience with dealers many will take a deposit pending an allocation being made available to them. Most dealers get take more deposits than they have allocations. If they get additional build slots allocated then you move up the list until you are allocated a build. Depending how far down the list you are you may not be successful. For example one dealer I spoke with had 4 slots allocated this year and 14 people on the wait list for the 992 GTS 2WD drive. You may have more success with other variants as they do not seem to be as popular. 4wd drive cars seem a little easier to get. Make sure you know where you are on the wait list and how many allocations they realistically expect to get this year or even next year if you are prepared to wait that long.
On paint to sample the best way to increase your chance of success is to decide as soon as you order the car that you want this. You need to work closely with the dealer as if they do not firm up your specification and submit the order at least 20 weeks out from the build date then it’s pretty much impossible to get PTS. My build is scheduled for late April and I was advised in early January that unless my dealer had another build allocation late May or later the only chance would be to trade my build slot with a dealer who had a later slot or take a later slot that my dealer has available. So far I’ve they’ve not been successful in finding another dealer willing to trade and they do not have another allocation available this year. The email from Porsche that my dealer shared with me stated “There are many vehicles in the same situation, so we may not be able to shift your order back. Please use this as a last resort”.
I’ve decided to go with one of the standard colors as I think my chances of success are too slim to continue messing around with this, we’d already pushed my build back from February to April in the hopes of being successful in getting PTS accepted, my order was rejected.
The explanation I’ve received regarding why it’s so difficult to secure PTS is that it’s oversubscribed (despite the increased capacity recently announced) and that the paint is ordered for each vehicle as the order is firmed up. Like pretty much everything the supply chains are still a mess and they want a big margin of safety to ensure they can secure the paint for the vehicle.
Finally my experience is based on dealers in the USA, however from what I hear from friends in the UK the process is pretty much the same. If you’ve a friend with a later build slot who doesn’t want PTS and is willing to swap you might have a chance of success!

For me it takes my eye to the rev counterSpoke to my local dealer about ordering a carrera 2 as I thought it would have the shortest wait time - told min 2 years and I have history with the dealer and another confirmed order with them, when I mentioned the GTS instead eyebrows were raised and I was told they already have a number of clients who are going to v disappointed

Can you elaborate on the GTS situation? And which dealer was this? Thanks. Strange times
Sorry not comfortable saying which dealer as I am relying on them for my new car and they have always been straight with me.
The inference I got with GTS cars was that more deposits had been taken than confirmed delivery slots unless production steps up which is always possible.
Did wonder about turbos (I assume they are also unavailable) as well as I would love to have one before the end of new petrol cars in 2030

Ok no problem, I understand. I've had my GTS deposit down since start of July 2021, keeping my fingers crossed for an allocation soon. The inference I got with GTS cars was that more deposits had been taken than confirmed delivery slots unless production steps up which is always possible.

That's because there aren't many colours!!!! I looked at the Aston Martin configurator and they have about a trillion!
It's my only issue with Porsche, I want PTS, I can't have PTS until September (have a late March delivery I am told) so no way am I waiting. Except it's not clear if its a definite no to PTS, or maybe some colours, or if its a Tuesday its a different set of colorus, depending on if the managers goldfish says yes, but only on a the Tuesday..... for f***s sake.
Spec is getting tied down next week, currently I'm thinking Gentian, brown truffle interior, but who knows.....
I have PTS for the next set of allocations which is June delivery (the next set of slots they are offering PTS on)It's my only issue with Porsche, I want PTS, I can't have PTS until September (have a late March delivery I am told) so no way am I waiting. Anyone gone for a PTS slot? How long from deposit placed
I really fancy a PTS
yes I have.I really fancy a PTS
Deposit placed in august I think, given a March delivery slot, told no PTS, requested a PTS slot and Head office gave me a June delivery (May build) with PTS. Which makes sense, as all the PTS info says it adds 3 months to the wait, which it has in my case, car had to be locked down a lot earlier, presume its for their planning, so my car was locked down before Christmas.

Hi All,
Just spent 3 days reading every work of this threat. Absolutely brilliant!
I've just ordered my GTS yesterday. They are saying possibly just under a year for a 4. Non 4 is much longer.
I really REALLY wanted an Aero kit and was disappointed that it was removed as its a deal breaker for me, personally.
When I was doing the spec with Porsche in the showroom he was surprised it had popped up on the configurator again that he hadn't seen for month, so as it stands I have a signed order for a GTS with the Aero Kit.
However when I login using my code it says there is a conflict and to remove the Kit?
He says they do seem to get it on their system before we do so I was wondering if anyone can share anything on the contradiction?
Cheers
