How would you spec your 992 GTS?
Discussion
My current spec doesn't have privacy glass, but I must admit I keep flicking between having it or not. I think the issue is that on the online configurator it (IMO) makes the car look worse, however in reality it probably doesn't. My current 991.2 C4GTS has privacy glass and think it looks great.
Will have to wait for Apollo's targa to turn up and see how his looks before making my own decision, or hopefully until the dealers have one to physically view. Do we have any idea when dealers may have GTS's in the showrooms ?

I think Privvy looks great, had it on my C2S Coupe below back in early 19 that i used in Spain a lot 100% helps with the heat build up. No need to have the AC on full power with the Privy Glass. Its a must have on a GTS imv, On 992 Turbo S not seen a car without it.
It looks fine when you have the windows down! But that just disguises the problem. If you have the windows up, it looks silly, like a van, because the rear 3/4 windows are tinted but the side door's windows are not. So it doesn't match and looks like a van.Edited by APOLO1 on Sunday 22 August 10:31
So it's better to order normal glass and then put the same aftermarket tint to the glass all round whilst staying within legal limits. It won't be as dark a tint as factory but at least all the windows will match.

LoL, I Never thought of it looking like a Van with Privvy Glass. For me apart from helping with the heat it just makes the car, if its an option it will be going on all my cars, has zero effect when it comes to sell, its not like not having a glass SR, and on the likes of a Turbo s its a very popular option, same as on 992 GT3s also. Also struggling trying to decide between these two interiors, so will be interested in any replies.
Whichever one of those I end up with I will add racetex roof headlining , sun visors and racetex heated steering wheel.
Whilst I don’t like sitting on racetex I do like it on the steering wheel.
If I go for the full leather with crayon stitching will also add crayon seat belts to liven the interior a bit.
Privacy glass seems to be quite controversial. Really don’t like, as previously stated it ruins the side aspect. IMO is course.
Feel much the same about the glass roof, it breaks up the shape of the car, especially with light coloured cars. Less obvious on dark colours .
I had an issue paying £5k for the GTS pack so went for the Race-Tex / Carbon route - though admit the crayon stitching does lift the interior (our Boxster GTS has it)Whichever one of those I end up with I will add racetex roof headlining , sun visors and racetex heated steering wheel.

The only option my OPC has ever recommended is the sun roof (and then to add the privacy glass). Had it on my last two 992's and didn't find it that noticeable

How does this below look " Silly like a Van" my TTS, lol. I dont follow your reasoning above. With the Windows down it should make it look worse not disguise the problem due to that the fronts DO as a matter of Fact come with a degree of Tint albeit lesser than full privvy glass . Of the OPCs that i have spoken with they are yet to sell a 992GT3 or Turbo S that does not have Privvy Glass option. I have never seen either without, and neither has a mate who has done around 50 cars on PPF.

I quite like the GTS but does it need

Centre Lock alloys
Dealer seems to think so
Simple answer is yes.GTS interior

You can get the same look as the GTS package without the contrast colouring if you dont want that, by optioning the extensive leather with racetex option, that gives you the extra racetex on the lower dash and doors to stop it looking like a poverty GTS.
Then you can also add the extra carbon too (which is considerably cheaper if not optioning the GTS package). You can also add a contrast stitch if you wish too, which is what ive done to get yellow stitching to match the exterior colour.
Admittedly I’m not a massive fan of the accent dials, but it doesn’t seem to make sense to spec these two above the GTS pack, given the resale consideration?
Tell me if I’m missing something! I want the full Race-Tex interior, so have currently spec’ed Race-Tex interior package with extensive items in leather, but the only other thing I’d like is the contrast stitching. I could just do without the crayon seat belts and dials. The carbon is a no brainer, but I’d prefer to spend £506.00 as opposed to £2,231.00!

From what I can see, to get the contrast stitching costs an additional £2189.00 as you need Interior Trim Package with decorative stitching in contrasting colour. This, on top of the Race-Tex interior package with extensive items in leather at £2811.00, makes it more expensive than the GTS Interior Package...

Why is carbon a no-brainer? it is plaid printed plastic, faux carbon. Admittedly I’m not a massive fan of the accent dials, but it doesn’t seem to make sense to spec these two above the GTS pack, given the resale consideration?

Totally agree, was wondering if I was missing something about it, but yep totally agree.
The default is black brushed aluminium, or plastic I think? I think if aluminium it will be a bit nicer, but I’d be concerned about it scratching over time. Plastic won’t be quite as nice. Hence for, the no brainer bit!Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
