The system still has the same date but he did let slip that some cars are getting delayed on the last stage waiting for parts. Sounds like a bit of a lucky dip….
Thank you. I spoke to my dealer last night as well and he said the same, mine is currently showing it's ok, but he said it's too early to say anything at the moment as the delays appear to be happening later in the build stages.

Said he didn't know what parts or options were causing the delays.

If its not out of production by Tuesday then the delays have started….

What's the significance of Tuesday?

My builds original scheduled completion is 1st July.

I got a call from my OPC Friday, I’ve got a December build slot, and PTS too. biggrin

And today I’m at stage 1 of 5 on the My Porsche app, order created.

Does anyone know at what stage they lock the build? Also, I notice the 2nd stage is PEC, never had that before I’ve taken delivery of a car?

I ordered mine in January and the latest update is Q1 2023... may be a bit later...
I just booked a test drive at Silverstone PEC to try the same version I ordered: manual, RWD

Question for all:
is the track precision app standard in the 992 or you need to spec it? I have not seen as an option

I may be wrong but I think it comes as part of the 'Sports Chrono Package'.

Seemingley it compatible with all 992 models as long as you have Sports Chrono (and download the app obviously).

First day of slippage as the OPC says its still in build instead of complete. They always call it an estimated completion date, never more so now with all the extra issues….

Apparently, mine is not progressing as it should either, just had an email from my OPC. Looks like mine is stuck at V250 and not moved from that point since 10th June. Was supposed to be completing production in 3 days. frown

I’m torn on the choice for PTS, what does everyone think about Meissen Blue? My only concern is the 992 backend in lighter colours.

The shortlist is:

Grigio Telesto (A bit boring but I like it)
Irish Green (Good heritage colour and my favourite green)
Meissen Blue (A great heritage colour, but not sure it suits modern cars?)
Signal Yellow (A bolder choice, not sure I’ll be brave enough!)

In the process of speccing mine RWD GTS, so far thinking of:

- Carmine Red
- GTS interior package
- Sport Seats 4 way
- folding mirrors
- rear axle steering
- park assist with surround view
- Porsche innodrive
- light design package
- BOSE

Big thing for me is the manual vs PDK. The manual with mechanical diff seems the better option but worried it will be the “dinosaur” option… PDK is the modern choice I guess.

Any thoughts on this?

I thought about manual, but will probably go with PDK this time. I had a 991.2 GT3 with the 6 speed manual, and that’s great. But haven’t tried the 7 speed manual in the Carrera. It’s a shorter throw in the GTS than other models, but I’m not sure it’ll be wise for how I’m probably going to use this car.

Yes that’s how I am inclined too, PDK probably for me.

Any spec I am missing in your opinion? I get this is all very personal.

I think I’m going full buckets, I find them more comfortable than any other seats. Yes, getting in and out of them can be untidy, but once in them, I can happily sit in them for hours. And nothing better when you do want to attack some twisty stuff.

PDCC too, just helps it corner that bit flatter, and in conjunction with RAS, if it’s anything like the 991.2, will make it go round corners like it’s on rails. Although this option seems to divide opinion.

I have a manual, had it almost 3 months now, and done 3500 miles. It is a great gearbox. If you commute, then I can see why a PDK makes sense,

In years to come the enthusiasts will want a manual, but its your car. I love a manual, i really dislike PDK etc (Wifes M4 Comp is the equivalent and it isnt an amazing car to drive, it just doesnt give you the control. If you want a proper drivers car, get a manial. I did drive a PDK, its not as good, it removes some of the pleasure, but each to their own.

I also have rear wheel steer, essential.

I have the mega posh headlights, they are incredible (M4 has the equivalent, that made it essential)

Park assist with surround very good.

Bose is all you need, you really do not need Burmeister!
