Hi Yellow, How much do you think is a later 3.0 RS? Think 50 cars only? The one to have no? I've driven the wheels of a 2.7 RS. First air cooled 911 I had a go in was 2.7 RS having had string of 944s, Boxster etc. Was smitten. Surprising how modern she felt for a 50 year old car IMO

There are porsches that have sold for more a couple of years ago, great cars they are,be interesting to see where it gets to.
The 2.7rs is on the up back up,a couple of very good examples almost at 2018 prices sold recently.
I hope Porsche do a modern take on the 917

Yup that would be the one for me
agreed. No doubt in my mind
A pleasing circularity in posting that given Marino's involvement with the DLS, as that was Dario's old car.

I'd have that over the DLS to be honest, its been for sale for a while, so its probably not far off the price of the Singer either............

Here are some pointers :

This car featured in a couple of the earlier Evo mag features :

I've no doubt Yellow knows how much the Tom Hartley Junior example sold for :

This one was up for £1.25mil and took a while to sell but it’s a race car

https://henderson-fellowes.com/1974-porsche-carrer...

The last 2.7 RS I know of that sold was one that sold through Maxted Page in a matter of hours for £600k. Was a very good car with a previous owner left disappointed who also wanted to buy it.

I think you could pretty much name your price for a road 3.0 RS now. How many of the original 50 survive that have the right history/provenance ?

As normal it depends on the pedigree, how original, correct parts etc,rhd best in the uk but big premiums.I still think a 2.7 proper lightweight is a better Drive, friend has the only 2.7rs lwt that raced at the targa florio, its rhd and a sublime drive, engine slightly tickled by tutts.
Sometimes you have to pay a bit more to get the right car which is then a safer place for your funds,i know this only two well with my Gt2 i hope!

I am overjoyed that there is zero love for the DLS. Prices will plummet and I will be able to pick one up for peanuts. Cheers all!
