Hi there, I’ve just booked my GT3 in for its first major service and my OPC is wanting to charge £2281 inc VAT for this; seems like a crazy cost to me ? Can anyone confirm what they’ve paid for this service elsewhere ?

I will obviously ring round some other OPC’s / Good indy’s, but wanted to have some back up info before doing this.

Thanks in advance smile

my quote was £2700inc. This included £300 for an AC service, not sure if i would need that really.

Yep, going through this at the moment. I was astonished when I was quoted £2626 as 2 years ago it was under £2k for the 4yr service. So a 30% increase in 2 years! However, I've got another quote for £2154 and given my OPC the chance to match it. I think they were taking the piss actually as this is my third car this summer to be serviced there after 24 years of loyalty. Let's see what they come back with.

Yes, I asked why such a big difference and they mentioned it was group wide pricing. My OPC said they had fixed price menu servicing which would be similar across the network as its recommended by Porsche. Clearly this is nonsense as the other one said there's a lot of shopping around because of the differences.

That's a crazy amount of money for a 4 year service!

Now Porsche'less these service costs are one of the things that I won't miss! Equivalent service from BMW or Mercedes would be in region of £1,000 absolute maximum.

Is the 991.2 much different to the 991.1 for service costs?

I don’t remember the 4-year major service being that expensive, but it could be that I’ve wiped it from my mind, given I probably had a warranty extension and new tyres at the same time!

In the days when there was a fixed price for Participating Centres (to 31.12.19) the 4 year service was £1,395 including brake fluid and plugs.

I have since been advised there's an issue with the OPC quoting system. If they work the price out manually it's correct, however if they press the total button its wrong!! Make of that what you will.

Anyway they're matching the price for me!

This definitely rings a bell on my 991.2 GT3. So even at £2,100 that’s a 50% increase - how they can charge £k2 for a days work is beyond me. I wonder what a good Indy would charge - will find out.

I can confirm it is not. I was initially quoted £1,900 incl vat for 4 year service on my 991.2 Gts which includes spark plugs and brake fluid change as they are recommended items. Worth phoning around as i ended up paying £1,700. Didn’t bother with A/c service

Just had mine done at OPC Colchester. Just under £1900 including the PCGB discount.

Interesting, mine wouldn't give the club discount.

I’m guessing the profit margins are quite high as Colchester didn’t bat an eyelid when I asked.

For people saying one days labour mine was quoted as two days and they ended up having it for 3 due to an issue obtaining the correct oil filter (or so they said)
