Reading Rennlist porsche forum and lots of GTS customers who were expecting the cars in August/September have been told that their model year has been changed fro MY22 to MY23 at no extra cost but the build date has moved to December-January. I wonder if this is just for GTS customers or everyone is effected. I would rather get my car sooner (current build date in 25/08) then a MY23 in December.

Called my dealer today and unfortunately build date for my C2 has been moved by Porsche from 25/08/22 to 5/11/22. At other forums it has been suggested that all the cars where the configuration lock down date was after 09/07/2022 has been moved to November. Anyone else in the same boat?

@Docmem , on the bright side, looks like you are getting an awesome Christmas present. I am still waiting for my allocation and I would love to have the C2S for the next summer.

I agree Pivo, ultimately car will arrive but 18 months after I paid deposit (if I get it in November), and potentially I am getting a MY23 car - nit sure if that makes any difference. You hang in there too. You will hopefully definitely get the car next year before the summer I am sure.

Well I rang my dealer on the 27th July to find out where my C4S is and he said it was showing as completing production that day. Haven’t heard anything since and still at Stage 3 in the app so suspect it’s sat in the factory somewhere half finished. Not sure whether Zuffenhausen has shut down for the summer break yet but I am guessing a few weeks before it gets completed…

Docmem - was your car a delayed July build pushed out to 25th of Aug?
I had a slot for July 8th completion for my C2S which went out to 24th of Aug, so I am assuming I will be caught up in the new delay.

My original build date was July which then moved to 25th August and now 2nd November. So I presume you may be in the similar situation

Emailed my dealer today who then checked the car’s status and it has moved from 24th of Aug to 5th of Sep completion. He is optimistic there won’t be further delays, but I won’t hold my breath tbh.
We will see if he is right over the coming weeks….

What was your specs lockdown date? It must have been before 09/07/22 as anyone after that has been moved to November. Is your car going to be MY22 or MY23?

I don’t think there is any difference or advantage imo. I only know because dealer send me this information. Previously I had MY22 build sheet.

Screen shot from the dealer yesterday shows freeze date as 15th of July CP8 5th of Sep and the car is a MY22.
As of today seems mine has slipwd the November build net. This is Porsche build logic at its best - but there is of course still time for mine to go to Nov.

What sort of initial deposit are you guys putting down on a C2/CS that you're waiting 18/24 months for? Finance examples on the site show a deposit of ~£17k which is realistic as an initial payment for the car on delivery but surely not at the time of placing an order?

£5k gets you on a list as an intention to buy.

The key bit is to have one already and then the wait for another isn’t so bad.

On top of the initial 5k deposit I think some dealers will ask for 10% of the value of your car’s order at the time you get an allocation. So an additional 7K for a 120K car.

Really. What reason do they give for asking for the extra 10% payment? Thought the process was 5k deposit and then the rest on delivery.

The initial deposit is refundable if you cancel your order. When you finalise your spec - lock down - the deposit is increased to 10% ofprice and becomes non refundable.
