992 allocations to the dealers
Discussion
A friend of mine who put the deposit in April last year for C2 just been allocated a car for March built and April delivery. I also paid the deposit for a C2 in May, and my dealer who has been very helpful came back to me this week and told me that he has inquired about the expected delivery time for my car and have been told by the head office that all cars are currently delivered strictly in order of the deposit date, regardless of where you ordered. They are expecting one C2 to be delivered per month in the UK for next few months and I am currently No 3. in the UK waiting list so the expected build date for my car would be either April or May with delivery in June or July. Hope this helps

Interesting, thank you. I’m waiting for a C4 Coupe. Never thought of asking my dealer how many cars the whole of the UK gets per month/annum etc. Its clearly not a lot!Hi everyone - new to this and have been looking on the internet for information on 992 Carrera allocation timeframes.
My situation is I ordered and put a deposit down for a C2S in May 2021. I've asked for an allocation update on a few occasions last year and have just been told they haven't received anything for me. Last update was a few weeks ago which stated - they haven't received any Q1 C2S allocations, however I am now top of their list and next inline.
I'm crossing my fingers that I could get a delivery around May or June. Is this to optimistic I wonder?

I have put down deposit for the 911 C2S in Dec-21 and I am told the Porsche UK guidance is 4Q2023. I am a fairly patient man, but 2-years waitlist is ridiculous. The SM is checking what can be done as looks like I will see two annual price increases and potentially a 992.2 nip-and-tuck facelift.

Sounds great Mark, hopefully you get it this quarter.
I am 3rd in a queue for C2S at my dealer (don’t have the country-wide info) and I am told to expect it 4Q2022
If you don’t mind explaining, what happened? Did a bunch of people ahead of you in the queue drop out? Or was Porsche’s estimate changed by 12-months after only 1 month of waiting?I am 3rd in a queue for C2S at my dealer (don’t have the country-wide info) and I am told to expect it 4Q2022

I am wondering whether to add rear axle steering to my car's current spec (Porsche Code: PNAHHIU7) as I have read good things about it.
Anyone have experience of it on a 911 and think it's worth it?
P.S. I changed my ID from Mark GJ to MK911 - seemed more appropriate

Yes, experience of rear axle steering on the 992 and well worth it IMO. Much sharper turn in makes the car feel smaller and lighter on it's feet. Anyone have experience of it on a 911 and think it's worth it?

Same for me, I placed a deposit on a C2S in mid-December and was told Q4 this year was realistic, so the Q4 2023 date is alarming! I was hoping by Q2 2023 at the latest
Will probably follow up with the dealership at some point in March to see where things stand but do keep me informed on the status of your order.MK911 said:

I’ve had rear axle steering on both a 991 and 992, and I’m a big advocate of it. Having driven similar cars without it, they felt rather numb without the option. Worth noting that GT3 & Turbo have it fitted as standard. Anyone have experience of it on a 911 and think it's worth it?

I enquired about lead times for C2 or C2S in December 21 and was told 12 to 18 months. I took this to mean 18 months and put the idea on hold for now.
The waiting lists will grow until production reaches normal levels again and the backlog is worked through. Once that happens, used cars will once again be cheaper than new cars and there will be options. I can't bring myself to pay 10 to 20% over new prices, for a 2 year old car.
I can see why the GTS models are filling the capacity, as the gross margin on these will be much higher than the lower models. Porsche has to use all the tools available to maximise return in these times of allocation.
The dealers need to take great care with their used car stock, as prices start to fall. They could end up making a loss!
Looking at Autotrader, cars are not shifting very quickly in the last month or so.
