I'm planning to replace the bolts myself once they're available to save hassle and risk of transport. They can post them over and I'll fit then when it suits me.
Surely they won't let you do that?

My OPC called today offering £1000 for every month my GTS is off the road. Is this consistent with others?
That is an absolute insult.

I havent recevied a call about my GTS yet regarding compensation.
Which is your OPC? mine is Bristol.
Leicester . The offer is conditional, I have the entry level Macan for the duration of the fix, or they get me a 911 and the compensation is £500 per month

That is what I thought but I wanted to gauge what other people had been offered

I have a non impacted 2021 turbo s.

Re compensation there seem to be a number of variables.

1. Depreciation of the car over the period you can't use it. If you own a turbo s for 3 years on a £200k cost your loss I guess is going to be £50k?? £1300 pm
2 tax and insurance £150 pm ish
3 warrenty period marching on and you can't use it. Warrenty extension is ball park £100pm
4 service interval marching on and you can't use it £50 a month say
5 finance cost / lost interest cost. Bear in mind £200k at 4% is £666pm

That lot is £2250 ish

These are direct costs of ownership

Then add in compensation for the fact you can't actually drive or sell your £200k vehicle.

£1000 is not really cutting it is it ?!

A free next service, 1 year warrenty extension and £1000 pm and a loan car you are plausibly getting close but if the car is on finance you are still well out of pocket

Depending on who owns the different OPCs, Porsche/ Franchises or independents there are bound to be widely different offers of compensation as this is exactly what we went through with the 991 GT3 engine saga and why a uniform class action brought against Porsche was the only satisfactory solution for everyone concerned.

I can't imagine the dealer funding any of this

My understanding is that Porsche itself pays for any compensation/gestures of goodwill, as I was told by Porsche customer service.
I have yet to receive a call about any offer.

My understanding, talking to the OPC, is that they arrange the car rental (once authorised by PUK) & PUK deal with any compensation claims &/or costs associated with the replacement vehicle (e.g. resident's permit)

My dealer said that Porsche aren’t making any compensation offers until customers cars are fixed, and they know how long each individual car has been out of action. Which makes a lot of sense. So why are some dealers low balling offers to people?

I’ve asked for confirmation that having a loan car won’t affect any compensation, as the tech that visited yesterday seemed to think that as the loan cars are supplied by OPC’s and the compensation from head office, it won’t make any difference.

The old adage that a problem is not an issue but it is how it is dealt with.

The centre lock cars are mostly the more expensive and the impact is their premium customers over the last 12 months.

This is not really a group you want to royally ps off particularly as the dealers are awash with stock

Not sure they know or care who their premium customers are these days. Their marketing seems to be aimed at teeny wokes lusting after an EV rather than anyone lusting after centre locks smile

I'm going to be slightly controversial here and whilst I completely accept the centre lock issue is far from ideal....
The timing is probably the best it could be.
I suspect many people with the higher end new centre look equipped cars would have them tucked up away for the winter and would be expecting limited use of the cars over the next few months anyway and have access to a second car. (Either their own or a OPC loaner) so bearing that in mind, any cash compensation is a pretty generous bonus

I keep seeing comments like this particularly on rennlist in the USA.

Why would you not drive it in winter ? What do you think is going to happen to it ?

Exactly. I had several trips planned in mine, including the Christmas markets in Germany. I’m not allowed to take the Macan out of the country, so that plan is scuppered.

I said many people, not all.

It is a fact many Porsches (even more so the higher end GT cars) are second cars used for high days and holidays in nice weather and are not daily drivers. Many are mothballed and cosseted during the winter to protect from salt and keep mileage down to preserve value.

Therefore an issue like the centre locks happening over the mid winter is likely to actually inconvenience fewer people than if the same issue happened in midsummer.

There will be some people genuinely put out, but there will also be a reasonable number of people who will be affected, pissed off maybe, but the actual impact would be negligible.
There will be others who will express faux outrage too.
