I see my old car is up for sale again ,I thought sold just a few months ago and only 600 miles since I sold it just over 2 years ago! I can vouch for it being properly run in and all that as I owned from new (bought as a preregistration new with 4 miles on the clock)and IMHO is the best 987 spyder in the country!
Just wish I could of kept alongside the gt4 for the perfect cayster garage!

Whats the latest on a 718 spyder ? I reckon 718gt4 will be NA . As its a gt car . Spyder will be a turbo.

There was a mention on a USA site that inside info was that it will be non turbo but that seems unlikely to me. I'm waiting for the next spider rather than getting a gts as I've got a 718 S . Hopefully it'll be out at the end of next year or start of 2019.

I hope Lotus come up trumps for the 2020 Elise.

The hassle to get a Porker grates a bit and the cars have gone a bit soft.

My Spyder is a keeper. Well this is what I believed and told everyone from the moment I drove away from the OPC.

Now, a year and a half later I have a new job, halfway around the world and I'm really at a loss as to what to do. I have three options: Put it into storage, for about three years, sell it or ship it out with me (to an island with very few paved roads and Landrovers are king).

I really don't want to sell it because, for me, it's just perfect but it is after all just a machine.
It's not the right time to sell but I'm not sure it would make a huge difference.
I'm not overly worried about values but ATM it's probably worth what I paid (perhaps a little more) but I store it and a MK3 NA Spyder comes out will it devalue massively and I missed an opportunity to make a little from it.

Any thoughts smile

BTW I am fully aware that this is a first world problem but then we are on a Porsche forum so most of what is said is a first world problem!

Don't sell it - it's a PTS 981 Spyder with PCCB's - it's lovely - no one knows what the new one will be like, NA or not or when it will arrive or if you'll be able to get the new one and even if you can it probably will not be PTS. I am lucky enough to have all sorts of GT cars old and new and the Spyder holds its own in every way - in the real world it's the one I drive the most and will only swap for a gen3 if it's NA and as gorgeous as the .2 - & only maybe even if this is the case.

I honestly think it will be worth the same amount in April 2018 as now and as such I'd sleep in it for the next few months.

If in doubt, do nothing smile

Life is always full of regrets so why self inflict your own one biggrin It's got to be a keeper and when you finally return the car will be loyally waiting for you to start the bonding process as if it was day one again beer

Also with Rich and others on this.

PTS and pccb Spyders very rare. Wouldn't worry about the 718 affecting prices.....imo this won't happen especially if non na engine which is a possibility. The other aspect to consider is that with the reverse of pricing between the Caysters for the 718 the Boxsters are rightly more expensive meaning the 718 Spyder could be nearer if not the same price point as the 718 GT4 which will further support 981 Spyder prices.

Better road car and overall package than the GT4 imo. For reasons discussed many times on numerous threads!

Depending on your mileage, and to an extent registration, your car will be worth a minimum of £5k maximum of possible £12k over list as an outright purchase (not sor) to an OPC who knows their prices. The only downside is obviously we are approaching the winter recess.

As a comparable, I was bid £79k 3 weeks ago by my OPC for mine as an outright purchase. White, steels, heated folding buckets, red stitch extended leather, carbon, anti dazzle, pcm, phone, satin plat wheels etc 900 miles late 15 65 plate. £68k list.

But obviously many OPCs will not want to stock a Spyder this time of year and this will reflected in their price.

Hope you make the right decision...good luck!

he don't use any of his investments , hence I laugh at all his comments when he says how great all his cars car and how much better it is than a GT4 which he sold ! prob with del miles on as he stated hs Spyder got more use lol

£79k trade value lol dream land imo there is a PCCB car up for £79k at an OPC now. cannot see any normal OPC who DOES know the price bid above £70k on them, you might get list back.

It's a shame some posters seem to GET EVERY rare car and don't use any of them :-(

Sorry to sound off but I don't get why the same people get all the cars and they sit unused !

lol not a row, he just posts on every car , but the cars are not even ran in yet, so 4k limit ;-) but then posts how great very thing is and how much better stuff is and how he seems to get £10k better quotes on part ex than any one else lol

If the cars were used I might take more notice, but it's just money making imo which is all well and good if you get every car and can flip every car without penalty while the rest of use jump though hoops, take back our cars at list and cannot ever sell anything.

I asked a few times what his GT4 had on for miles but I guess we will never find out what miles it had or the overs that also got.

You know me ;-) say it how I see it. I am a fair guy but the same people get all the cars, spread the love I say.

There would be enough GT cars if every one just got the one !

Yes Rich, my better half preferred the Spyder to hers so shes hogged it for shortish trips but I have done the bulk of the mileage on proper drives! GT4 has just under 4k now but as you know like you I prefer the Spyder......at least when I can get the keys!
