Not really.

Top spec car (even without buckets).

And only 2 others on OPC network.

Rarity and the recent hot weather has meant prices have shot up.

Quite likely they will exceed GT4s pricing before the end of the summer.

Maybe, but very few of these around compared to GT4 and IMHO , in its own way, it's just as good - it will be a test that's for sure - time will tell smile

Mayfair prices! The spec is ok .but not perfect. Grey on grey is a bit meh to my eyes , and no buckets. Let's see if it sells . If it does go before the weekend this must show the spyder is hot .

Yes!

But if someone is willing to play that? As others have said, time will tell.

I suppose for me it's the fact that an OPC, one owned by PUK, is selling this car more than £20k over list and at a figure circa £10k more than anyone else, therefore attempting to make and push the market... Just feels rather unbecoming of an OPC, more the behaviour you'd expect from a high end indi.

The person that pays that sticker price has no interest in the true value of the car. I don't think that sale will tell you anything, given its location.
Why assume it will be bought by say an over affluent city 'hedge fund manager' buying on a whim whilst walking past the showroom?

More likely to be bought by an enthusiast from the opposite end of the country.

I'd guess it's more likely a greedy seller who has seen the lack of stock and is trying his luck at an outrageous price on SOR.

Do OPCs even do SOR? I'd probably take 85k for mine!

How critical are buckets in the Spyder? Anymore or less so than the GT4?
I know they were standard.
Granted chairs are easier for access, given the toy/weekend nature of the Spyder I can't help feeling buckets would be a huge miss?

The East London car was SOR at £89k...
....and has sold.
I looked at it (lovely) but couldn't justify the price with my anticipated mileage in mind.

No, it's one of own on here who has returned it from the dealer they purchased it from. The OPC is selling this for themselves.

The folding buckets were 'free' on the Spyder but the newer Spyder type buckets were a relatively expensive extra.

Plenty of info on the GT4 thread on the benefits and drawbacks of each type.

I wouldn't touch a Porsche GT or Spyder without buckets and find the folding buckets perfect for the car, more comfortable than the sports seats.... plus they can be heated (unlike the Spyder buckets), which is essential, in a cab.

Gt4s without buckets are unsurprisingly harder to sell and worth considerably less. Likely not as crucial with the Spyder.

In a 981 not critical at all it seems looking at the sales as I have however this seems contrary to the 987 version where they are most coveted. I dont have them in mine and thats not to say I think the folding bucket is the nicest seat overall. Yes buckets seem more important to GT4 buyers than 981 spyder buyers at the moment.

Folks,

As unfortunately my 987 Spyder spends the majority of its time in my garage, I was looking for recommendations on an indoor cover.

I think part of the problem is that I need new garage doors (as there are gaps in the top/bottom) and whenever I put the car away clean, the next time I take it out there is always a small film of dust over the car.

I know that Porsche do an indoor cover for £200 but was wondering if there are any recommendations for other firms that would supply the Spyder.

The only nuance is that my battery charge (CTEK) sits on the windscreen but suppose I could get the interior battery cigarette lighter connection instead

Finally picked it up today . Drive back from OPC a bit unnerving with wind noise and rattles ..... Got home and got the roof off , fantastic ! 1st impressions are great . Short shift box excellent , steering spot on , power and noise is enough for B road fun .

Looks great, painted roll over hoops also, I wish mine had those.

It's like an old school feel but a bit newer, it's amazing how new cars feel after a drive In a 987.2 Spyder.

Is it ok to leave the roof folded in boot ? I don't really intend to ever have it on so tempted to leave unrolled in garage ?

What colour are standard hoops ?

They are always red. This was OK on my Guards Red Spyder but always (imo) look a little out of place on any other colour. Particularly if the car has PCCB's.

I realise now, rereading your post, that you were talking about the roll over hoops. Sorry smile

However I still wonder why the made all the Hood hooks red?
