Yes, a great chap who is looking forward to spending some time out with his car mad son so hopefully it will get some more use. As for future sales pricing starting with a 5, I can guarantee this as prices rise every time I sell a Porsche! smile.

Damn! I was too late in contacting you but well done on the sale. Looked a superb example at a fair price IMHO.

Thanks (and sorry!) Car was a great spec and as it left the factory and had had only been driven back from its recent service at OPC Tonbridge - so, less than 50 miles - before being put back in the garage. I will be very sorry to see it drive away tomorrow morning but I believe it is going to a good home.

Think I was lucky with the timing of the ad as it was placed just after a similar, slightly cheaper car - with a two year extended warranty - had been withdrawn and just before the five day mini heatwave. I couldn't have asked for a better day for the viewing - the hottest April day for decades.

Might the new 718 Spyder have a NA flat 6 after all...?

Not to answer on his behalf... but yes, my old car. So one last gratuitous photo op for me, will definitely buy another Spyder in the future.

Perfect in almost every sense. The one thing I would have liked is a shorter set of ratios, especially 2nd and 3rd. That took the shine off for me, on our roads.

I have it on retention. I don’t own a convertible anymore so I guess it’s for sale if you’re interested!

I see my old 987 Spyder is up for sale again at £59995!
That's about 20% more than I paid new but just over its list price which was circa £57k
Wow..... Yet another reason I should have kept hold of mine....!!
Deposit taken today!

So £59,995 wasn’t too big an ask after all....

Doubt it's gone for full ask as it's been up for a while, mid £50s maybe. £60k too much... IMO of course.

911v dont discount much if at all on their cars. They have only had it a couple of weeks which would hardly be of any concern on a spyder in spring time. My guess would be full asking or very close to it!!

Hoping to have a similarly positive impact on values for the Cayman R owners out there. Something a little special in the pipeline coming on-line today. Think snake (not me, the colour !). Glad to hear you're happy with you're R Chris. Best wishes from me and the team here.

Cheers

A very bespoke car in small numbers, if anything they seem very underpriced when you look at 911 prices even £80k 997 GTS prices.

£60k then seems cheap, daft yes, but cheap vs all other stuff.

Just got back after a 100 mile drive from picking up my two year old 981 Spyder..We had a beautiful sunny day so top down all the way which made me connect more with the Spyder than i did in my GT4..In terms of driving at sensible speeds the gearbox, engine and steering feels very similar to my old GT4 albeit with a better noise..
Surprising minimal buffeting even at 90mph+ and a lot less than the 991 Targa i drove last year..Despite feeling it has identical power to the GT4, inexplicably it seems to guzzle much less fuel...about 3-4mpg better IME..Does any one know why this is ?
Incredible body control and i couldn't discern any scuttle shake whatsoever even going quickly over rough roads..Fantastic gear change with a precise and direct shift with none of the play reported by some GT3 owners..
So far so good and i think it will complement my 991.2 GT3 perfectly..Well at least until something else better draws by attention...!
