It has dropped to a price where it should sell.. traders will offer even less .for it think your original price was a bit optimistic .Prices are falling and not many private buyers about with spare cash .Wish you all the best in your sale .

I had mine advertised for that sort of money when i tried to sell it must be nearly 2 years ago now (if you believe forums they were on fire back then !) it had only done 2,000 miles at the time was in white decent spec at the time loads of MFW left and it was the cheapest advertised by around £4k as I wanted to shift it for a property purchase I offered the option of PX and finance but after 3 months I gave up and traded the car for close to my asking to a specialist, they sold it for £6k more within a week. best of luck with the sale but I think you will be lucky to get someone knocking on your door with £73k as a cash buyer. The same car as I bought didn’t exist in the OPC network (spec, mileage etc) and if it had it would no doubt have been £7-8k more expensive!
Pic as it had a wash last weekend!
Thanks for the comments.
I think it’s well priced given the spec and 18 month Porsche warranty.
I’ll not keep it at this price for long as if it doesn’t sell in the next few days, my purchase is off the table anyway so price will go back up and I’ll sell it in spring.

I seem to have a thing for white Porsche’s.....my last 4 have been 997 GTS, Cayman GT4, Cayman R and now the 981 Spyder!
Comically my E92 M3 Comp pack is Santorini Blue which couldn’t be further from white!
And whilst I’ve not been a big fan of silver wheels for quite some time I can’t help thinking they look right on the Spyder.... so I’m going to live with them for a while before deciding to either leave them silver or switch to either platinum or satin black..???

I'd leave the wheels as they are personally, think they look great. Not a big fan of platinum wheels and I think black works better with some of the bright colours personally. Comically my E92 M3 Comp pack is Santorini Blue which couldn’t be further from white!

What order would you rate them in?
Is it as clear cut as newer equals better or are there any surprise's

Chris when i eventually find one it will be identical to yours. The 2 I am still 'negotiating' on with very little success at the moment both have black wheels which I really don't like. I adore silver wheels so if I do get one of the 2 I am looking at we could do a wheel swap and save money on having painted. The truth about current prices are no-one is moving much from advertised prices, esp.private sellers, OPC seem to have more wriggle room. I must have called about every white car currently for sale, the only ones being reduced have the 918 spyder seats which contrary to opinion and all I hear are the seats no-one actually seems to want as they are uncomfortable and its the folding buckets that appear to have a premium over the 918 and comfort seats.
I should just buy one of them but I just can't bring myself to at the prices currently being asked with almost no discount when I know there may be one around the corner at £5k less, there always is, usually just after I buy! ATM most private sellers are asking over OPC money! Crazy!
If I was buying I would be patient. Prices are falling - everyone focused on brexit, but regardless of brexit I think we’re due a correction.
Even as an owner, these will be in the 60s soon. The whole car market, classics and halo cars is going down I think. Great news for those of us who are happy to actually drive them!

True you can get a better deal privately but not many people have 70k to buy outright.
I would need to sell my CR first privatley before maybe having enough to buy private. Although less than a 981Spyder I wonder how many others still have late 40s in the back pocket because that's what I want with only 17k all the so called right bits pampered history.
Why dealers have buyers over a barrel for PX maybe finance.
PS can't beat white for looking g crisp and sharp .
Good luck selling only if I had the money.

I am in the trade so buy cars on a daily basis but I think people who either don't want to Part exchange or don't need finance are in the minority, you will be surprised how many people wont deal with a private seller and want to deal with a known dealer, It then makes it harder to sell if the private buyer is after a specific colour or spec car as said you may get lucky, the guy that owned my car did.
I can definitively say after looking for a month that private sellers are asking more than OPC. Which is daft as I have money waiting but no private seller I have spoken to is willing to drop below OPC deals. Which considering OPC cars are warrantied and probably have at least £5k margin is ridiculous.
I would have expected private cars to start at least £7k BELOW OPC cars taking on board warranty, margin & dealer security and not even considering other dealer benefits like finance & trade in facility and equally, if not more importantly, building dealer relationship for any future purchase. Private sellers can't offer any of these benefits yet they seem to want MORE for their cars?
On the OPC used car locator there are 6 well specified OPC cars with less than 10k miles for £73 - £75K . assuming £2k discount is possible. This means realistic £72k well specified 6k mile OPC cars are available with a warranty. Therefore private cars should be available at around £65k but after a quick look on PH and AT you will see, apart from the member on here who has just reduced his silver one to £73,500, the private cars are £79,999 for 11k miles, £79,995 with 1k miles and £79,950 with 3k miles. Way, way overpriced for cars without any dealer benefit.
OPC clearly know something private sellers do not, they are selling at much lower prices for similar spec cars. I know some will look at each car and say this one has PCM and that one has a reversing camera and 918 buckets but the truth is almost all the OPC cars are well specified with 918 buckets and PCM.
I will probably buy from an OPC even though I don't need finance or a trade in as private sellers expectations are clearly too optimistic at the moment and this is across other marques too. It seems a shame to waste all that money on an OPC margin, I am sure private sellers will be kicking themselves in a few months when their cars have not sold and prices have moved further downwards. I have just made this mistake myself selling my F355. I had 2 very keen purchasers who even paid for independent inspections which were all good and then they called me a few days later to say they just walked into a specialist and got £20k off a dealer car and bought that instead! This happened twice. I wasted lots of time and learnt a valuable lesson. I wish I had taken the 1st offer i got 4 months ago as its £6K more than I just had to sell for after 4 long months of hassle and a £2k service in the interim. I just wish current spyder sellers would realise the same.....

The current seller on here selling his for £73.500 has got to be a sound buy has all the correct bits and 18months warranty .If you buy most private sales warranty may need added at around £1650 It then lets the seller negotiate his next purchase with a deal with no PX so if he sells a few £££ less he will recoup it on the next car .Come the summer prices will drop back as the new model will have been announced ,try getting a decent PX on your car if you want the new one .
