I’ll shortly be joining the Spyder club.. only dawned on me in the last couple of weeks what a lot of sense these make, price point/looks/noise etc.. and perfect for summer trips! This is it.. a nicely specced car in my opinion although I may change the wheels to platinum or silver ]
I have a white Spyder with factory silver wheels but sorely tempted to switch to black. How many miles does your new car have and are you maybe interested in a swap?? Mine have just 1,300 miles and are all perfect so would want the same / similar in return...Gixxerdave said:
Hi Lambo
Thanks for the reply , beautiful car , love the colour , but can’t compromise on the seats unfortunately!!
I must admit I’m surprised it hasn’t sold , especially at that price.
Kind regards
Dave
I was interested in that car too but just a bit light on spec for me and I'm going a different route now anyway. When paying this amount for a Boxster people want all the toys. Thanks for the reply , beautiful car , love the colour , but can’t compromise on the seats unfortunately!!

No probs I do understand regarding spec etc, when I was looking July/August last summer the only other car I liked was a Blue car at rpm technic that had the bucket seats and leather dash but was 7 grand more money, 4,000 more miles and 1 year less porsche warranty...the 7k premium didn't make sense, especially with the added miles and less warranty so was happy to buy my car with the comfort seats and non leather dash.
I actually prefer the comfort seats.
Same market now hence it is the cheapest one for sale in the country and realistically I would sell it for 65k. I have been refused finance on the cars I was originally looking at (140k - 200k cars) so am now looking at 115k cars that will be bought without finance...probably a LP570 Gallardo ... was out in the 981 spyder today, roof down all day....it really is a great car for the money especially if you know a few places where you can get away with using it properly above 4000rpms in a few gears!!
If I was wealthy enough I would keep it alongside a performante......one day......

No, it was me. The car is off to New Zealand.
This will be my fourth car with an UK connection. My Cayman R was ex UK, as is my ‘99 Boxster and I exported a ‘93 Turbo 3.6 to the UK a few years back.
Hey just seen this. I was the last but one owner of this one, I traded it into Tom for a manual Spyder. I believe the guy who bought it had just traded in a 993 turbo to free up some wonga and took "my" car to fill the gap. I bought it from the great guys at Paragon Porsche. Great car, had OPC warranty but never claimed on it. Enjoy ! This will be my fourth car with an UK connection. Matt, the car has been loaded into a container and will be in the high seas within a week. I expect it to be in my garage by late June. Tom gave it a major service, new front pads, and replaced a coolant pipe. The condition is a credit to prior owners and I intend to own it with the same level of care. My first purchase was a Porsche indoor cover.
The spec level is exactly what I would have ordered new. My R had buckets added after the build so it was good to see that they were original here. I also wanted the paddles. I get that some people prefer manual (my 964 and 2.5 Boxster are both manual boxes), as I go to the track, but this is a different use where traffic makes that unbearable, plus I know it won’t have over revs
Re the OPC warranty, when did that expire?
I went out in the Spyder this weekend, still quick enough to excite and small enough to give you options on the road. The way is moves as one in the corners just feels so right.
On a less positive note, the display says it needs a service in 25 days (time rather than mileage related). I was planning to service at the end of the year when the warranty runs out, does anyone know if you need to stick to the time-based servicing to maintain the warranty?
