According to this Rennlist info it's true, although I suspect they're as near as dammit identical. Due to the torque restrictions, the new 4.0 only gains at the top end:
^ this. Both engines are torque limited within the 5000-6000 range so in theory they are producing the exact same hp. The tendency I agree should be to chase revs on the new car though as it is supposed be continuing to add power as you to rev out to the rev limit unlike the 981.

Does any of this matter on the road though? Are you logging lap times for you favourite b roads? I don't see the need for outright pace on the road, just seems pointless.
I did say the only flaw now with my GT3 is it's too fast !

Fun as I drive it fast ,but daft as I drive it fast.

I want to sell it but don't want to sell it, stuck in between a rock and a hard place with it atm.
It has everything I disliked about my GT4 put right.

I would regret selling it but don't need it. but do like it, so still own it ;-)
Mate thats first world petrol head problems right there..........i know the feeling lol

Beautiful. And don’t get me wrong, I love the way it drives. I need to get mine to sound like Mr Demons but I can’t find the bit of the thread where you explained how to do it.....
Cargraphic sports manifolds, gives you a boot of bhp also.
Just a thought on this guys, I've done a bit of development work with Kline for my 996 and have contacted them regarding an F1 grade Inconel 625 system for the 987.2 (Cayman, Boxster and Spyder compatible). If you are not aware these are the best systems you can buy; weight saving for a complete system is 19.2kg. The sound is second to none and an integrated vavletronic system is included (Like the PSE). If anyone is interested in me arranging a group buy please let me know. I have confirmed prices already.

I am after a better lighter cat back rear section to mate with my manifolds.

Very little between 981 and 718 GT4 in reality then

Yep, you'll only appreciate it if you're a track goer. You'll get very little chance to rev out the car on the road!

420 bhp was a bit weak. Annoys me that they didn't just go 450 / 460 and make it into more of an event.
I know they say it's about the corners but get out of a 991.2 GTS and into a GT4 and it feels lethargic.

Here are a few pictures of the system in question, they really are a piece of art:

Lovely photos (and the exhaust system above looks very nice too - if only I had a car to put it on)

To keep things moving, what's the story with this Spyder (at £34,500): https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Some very desirable bits on it, but maybe the seats are holding it back? Surprised the seller doesn't get the minor damage sorted - unrectified damage, however minor, sends out the wrong message in an ad. Beautiful thing though!

Hi, slight change of topic here. Very informative thread, and full of useful info. I’ve managed to read through about 250 pages over the last few weeks but I am still looking for any information on the number of 2015/16 spyders sold, broken down by colour. In particular I’m looking for pictures of black with PCCB and racing yellow highlights, door pulls, seatbelts and stitching. If anyone has any pics to post or can point me towards them I would be very grateful. Finally, if you are the fortunate owner of such a car and are thinking of changing please pm me. Many thanks in anticipation. Cheers.

Fantastic av, thanks for the prompt reply. At least I now know I’m not unicorn hunting. Fabulous garage you have there too!

No problem and thanks.

Don't think I have actually ever seen a black 981 Spyder and whether there are any with yellow stitching AND pccbs is questionable perhaps others will know.

Good luck in your search they are great cars btw.

Yes, I agree thanks having had a test drive recently, and frankly if they are good enough for your garage I’m sure they are fine. I’ve had some decent cars over the years too, but this is such a fun car to drive, perhaps the perfect sports car for the UK.
Sadly I’ve been filling in a spreadsheet and approx 25% so far of all cars for sale have PCCB, so if I’m lucky 5 black cars, but then to add door pulls and seatbelts etc....Probably same odds as Boris’s brexit.
Anyway thanks again for the replies and the search continues!

Just bear in mind that unlike GT3s, both 981 GT4s and 981 Spyders with pccbs attract very little if any premium £ over steel braked cars as most buyers want steels.

Good news if you want a car with ceramics though bearing in mind the cost as an extra when new.
