Hi Davy
That was my car I've just traded in for a new Boxster GTS 4.0. The Spyder was great, no problems with it at all but it ended up in storage for a long time due to a huge delay in a garage rebuild. The GTS still has the big engine and manual gearbox but I've decided the electric roof suits me better. Hope you really enjoy the car.

Thank you for for that much appreciated.
Good luck with the GTS 4.0 must confess I was very sorely tempted by one myself.
Looking forward to picking up the Spyder now, promise I will look after it for you.

I can also confirm Porsche Silverstone quoted me £995 Inc VAT including all parts and labour. Colchester quoted me a comedy price.
Did that include the spark plugs which are good for 60K miles but only 4 years! East London were £1036.00 incl without plugs but say plugs need to be changed bringing the bill to £1331
Twinfan said:
Plugs are time dependent so they don't get stuck in the block irrespective of mileage,
I wouldn't skimp on them, and they'll need to have been done if you want to extend your warranty as they're on the maintenance schedule.
I see thanks for the clarification and have just double checked with my £995.00 quote and yes that does include the plugs so East London @ £336 more won't be getting my business in May I wouldn't skimp on them, and they'll need to have been done if you want to extend your warranty as they're on the maintenance schedule.

OPC Nottingham have quoted me £995 Inc VAT for Major / Spark plugs and Brake fluid change.
Local Porsche Indy is £400 cheaper!
As the Spyder is a keeper, i am very temped to go to the local Indy if it wasnt for the "Porsche" stamp stigma
Which indy is that?Local Porsche Indy is £400 cheaper!

I use Nottingham OPC for my Boxsters S but am tempted as of next year to go down the independent route.

Congrats!
A lovely spec, Burmester is top notch but I have to say I haven't listened to mine much as I prefer the car's natural soundtrack
Looking forward to seeing some more pictures as the weather picks up.

Better to change the manifold and get a real 350bhp than the back end of the system , also sounds mega.
Eventually maybe - will give it a year and see how it goes... assume it might need a remap etc. with headers. So will do that some time later in the year.

Colour choices for the 987 Spyder weren’t very imaginative, were they?No yellow, green, PTS.....
Was the colour option offered from Porsche very limited? Or just the buyers being conservative?

Anyone have an idea of how many of each colour were produced? (referring to the 981 Spyder).. I'm on the look out for either an Agate or a black car with buckets and ideally a relatively high spec.. Would be interesting to see the stats if anyone has access to them.
I've recently purchased Agate Grey/Buckets/Ceramics but I've promised seller (absolute gentleman) first refusal when I'm done with it!Many thanks to all of you.......reading this thread convinced me to pull the trigger and join the gang. The passion of ownership struck me quite soon but me being me I sat up one night and had to read every page.....which from memory was about 431 at the time!
First 981 I've owned so have nothing to compare it to but it sure ticks a lot of boxes........wow what a car.
IMHO it's a mini Super car but for a fraction of the price. I really don't think there is a better proportioned car on the market and how can n/a flat 6 not put a smile on your face.....thank you once again to each and every one of you X

Let’s hope at some point the current cloud is lifted and we get the chance to hit the roads again!
