Lazy 987 Spyder prep from my local OPC.

'B' on the rear badge is broken, wheels not painted to spec...and that's just the bits you can see as photos appear to be taken at dusk.
Probably gave the poor part-ex victim about £30k too...

What's wrong with the wheels? Gloss and Satin black were options
No silver band around the edge. It's easier/cheaper to not do it but it really makes the car IMO. Not a showstopper but it's not a £40k car with the likes of this one sitting unsold for a while now.https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10947451?c...

Hay peep.
My Spyder is currently parked up in the UK. When I eventually do manage to get it to Spain it will not have a garage. Both now and in the future a car cover might be a good idea. What do I need to be aware of? Are they a good idea?
I came across these on FB -https://www.classicadditions.com/en-GB/outdoor-car-covers/ultimate-outdoor-car-cover/prod_10077?fbclid=IwAR3RIHTfnLeW3X7q2XB9uk6o9B5UQnrc22VcyHMO-9O557YVKSDghNDPy50
A very interesting price but are they any good? If not what is wrong with them so I know what to look out for?

Many years ago when I bought my first Boxster I bought a secondhand expensive cover craft fitted cover of eBay. Yes it fitted snug and was soft but it held water. Thereafter when it disappeared one night I bought one of those medium fit covers that fits any car for about £40 I think from halfords it did a better job of not holding water but didn't fit snug so I fitted elastic cable around the lower half of the body to stop blowing off in the wind. But like any cover you have to make sure car is clean before fitting. Covers are great for long term storage but a pain if you use a car regularly although my first 2 Porsches lived outdoors for about 8 years with covers until I got a garage which ideally is the best solution!

yes ... I can endorse Classic Additions outdoor covers ...I have just purchased one in size Medium for my Spyder and it's a perfect fit ... £ 225 inc. delivery Uk . They are the best on the Market . I wouldn’t bother mine’s outside, no problem provided it’s used frequently, if it wasn’t I’d probably consider renting a garage or storage.
Just keep the roof drains clear or you'll get water in the modules and amp under the seats. Not one to normally get involved in the “what’s my car worth” or “crystal ball on future values” - but! Looking back around 8 months ago on this thread, low mileage cars were around the £35K mark, and now seem to be £45K?
So, are they appreciating and bucking the trend? Or is it just over ambitious potential sellers ?
I did a WBAC check on a £40K advertised car - and they came back at £25K. And know it’s a specialised car/market but trying to get a grasp on values and reassurance before I ‘write a (virtual) cheque’!

Sure WBAC gives the generic price for a Boxster S, so not quite comparing apples with apples. Been using them on/off for the Spyder and never have they come close to the actual trade in price pointsSo, are they appreciating and bucking the trend? Or is it just over ambitious potential sellers ?

There is always limited stock, spring on the way, vaccine coming so suspect £45k will be the norm,
Ok so after a week of talks, I've been added to the list at my local OPC and have left a deposit. No guarantee of a slot but a small chance of something either late Q4, or more likely Q1 2022.
Will be the first new car i've ordered, and certainly different to my Tuscan. I'm buying as a 40th birthday present to myself, and ideally hoping my wife also wants to come out in the car (she hated the TVR ).
Hopefully can visit the dealer after Easter and start taking a proper look at specs, certainly it'll be a difficult decision on the seats as i'm convinced my wife will need the adjustable sports, but i love the look of the buckets.
Also going to drive a pdk if I can, as i am a little concerned about the long ratios in the manual. My gut feel says stick with the manual as i've got paddles in my daily car, and have had them in a Z4 before and really didn't use them. On the face of it, it's a shame Porsche hasn't been able to make the manual ratios shorter but i understand it's partly due to emissions.
Has anyone been able to drive both manual and pdk and able to comment on the ratios? Does the PDK allow a more lively drive without breaking the speed limit in 2nd gear?!
Oh, and I'm likely to go either Yellow, or hopefully a Miami Blue replacement will come forward by the time my slot comes round!

I have also put a deposit down for a spyder in Q4. OPC will not take a deposit without being sure they can supply you a car. At least with east london opc, that was the impression i was given when i put my deposit down this week. I wouldn't worry but even if not, plenty of cars around, and they probably give you a 992 gt3 just to say sorry.

It's my unicorn spec, the asking price is what it is-you just need to square it up with what you're willing to pay.
What I would say is I wish the owner all the very best with his health issues.
Stunningly unique car and perfect for a collection. The owner is one of the most knowledgeable and friendly posters on P'heads and i wish him and his family the best of luck in the future. What I would say is I wish the owner all the very best with his health issues.
I'm now open to offers if someone is seriously looking for the unicorn.

8 months ago would have been May and car dealers were closed and market prices were all over the shop. I don't think you can make any valid comparisons from prices of 2nd hand cars during 1H20 and now. The market didn't really get back to "normal" until July or August. So, are they appreciating and bucking the trend? Or is it just over ambitious potential sellers ?
