Me too - very happy! Can I ask which part of the country and have they given you an approx. date? Mine is still vague atm with timescales.
SilverstoneNo Date
Hopefully this year
I think they're really waiting to see what the factory does and if they catchup from this lockdown/brexit mess....
what was you told?

I've tried many times with Silverstone but never able to get a good rapport even though they service and maintain my cars. Mine was Sytner so it seems that maybe they've have had some allocations or news this week. My normal dealer is Dick Lovett and they told me a definite no to a Spyder on Monday. No Date

No firm date yet and it might slip into next year which TBH wouldn't be the end of the world for me.

Really poor choice on colours.
GT silver maybe the chosen one, but really wanted a brown or a different shade of green.
Would of liked a tan interior too.
Gentian Blue with blue stitching maybe an option.
PDK, Steels and comfort seats.
Completely wrong for all those hardcore Spyder fans, but I don't care!

Colours are a real issue. Gentian looks really flat and dull in daylight but nice in the showroom. I had GT Silver on my GT3 and for me was a mistake on that car so I feel a little tainted with silver atm even though it looks good on the Spyder.
I'm currently on manual - might switch to PDK - flat white with silver wheels, steel brakes, 18 way seats and silver stitch. Not inspiring to look at!!
Hopefully shark blue (new GT3 colour) will appear for the Spyder once the initial GT3's are delivered as that would be my choice. Or even PTS - ha ha!
Likewise I don't care it's not hardcore - I've had the bucket seat cars and want something that me and Mrs S can use and enjoy without too much compromise.

Tan interior would definitely be interesting - similar to the heritage pack on the Speedster. GT silver maybe the chosen one, but really wanted a brown or a different shade of green.

I have wanted speed blue stitching on a car for a while now but the £1250 for leather and then £1,950 for stitching feels a little too rich for me.

Exactly the same situation back in 2015/16 so I ticked a box I had wanted to tick for decades and went PTS
Now Porsche have upped that option circa what I paid x 3.1/2 I am not so sure I could jump in so willingly today
I love the colour of your car - is that Voodoo blue? Now Porsche have upped that option circa what I paid x 3.1/2 I am not so sure I could jump in so willingly today
I spec'd an oak green metallic 991.2GTS and you're right the price wasn't too bad in 2016/7.
I have a big want for an Amethyst PTS car ATM - would it be better to put that colour on a spyder with silver wheels or on a Turbo S? All hypothetical really as PTS is still hard to get, particularly on GT product.

I’ve gone for steels, paint to sample and comfort seats, I didn’t get on with 918 buckets and wanted heated seats. GT silver maybe the chosen one, but really wanted a brown or a different shade of green.

As Spyders & GT cars are made in same factory Stuttgart and same production line I can't see any reason at all for a GT product in PTS being an issue
The issue is the tiny window Porsche allows for any models to be in a PTS which considering the HUGE profit margin they are making on these colours you would think the window would be permanently open

Have they approved PTS for you? 😳. When is your build date? From when I last did PTS they only open it up as an option a couple of times a year.Edited by Goldjono on Friday 29th January 13:27

I think PTS is a total PITA for them. Having been around the Liepzig factory, I can see why they have to charge as much as they do (well in Porsche profitability world as much as they do!!). They paint in batches of cars and the body shell is painted at a different time/location to the doors/bumpers etc. To keep changing the colour is expensive and having low volume spray painting is time consuming and open to much more issues in terms of consistency of finish etc.
Unfortunately running with 7 colours as they are atm is very profitable but extremely dull for the buyer.
The logistics of PTS are a nightmare, I think the shells are painted elsewhere and therefore have to be shipped into the correct factory at the exact timepoint they're required as I'm not sure if once painted they get stored in the usual shell storage facility or if they have to stay off site. Couple to that the need to get any body colour painted parts into the system at the right time e.g. spoilers, interior trim etc and if you've got a non-standard part it makes things all the more difficult if they're not coming from the usual source.
The problem is with GT cars being a halo product and having well off buyers the demand for PTS is much higher than for a base Macan (for example). If it was always available it would be a logistical nightmare for Porsche. I think people are lucky to get the PTS windows they do!

They paint shop for GT cars and Boxster / 992 is at the Stuttgart factory so apart from ordering in the PTS paint the robots doing the deed aren't fussed at all https://www.porsche.com/uk/aboutporsche/pressrelea...

That's the standard paint shop. On the factory tour I went on just over a year ago, I'm sure we were told that PTS cars are painted elsewhere.https://www.porsche.com/uk/aboutporsche/pressrelea...

That is what I was told as well. They also work on a just in time production method which is a nightmare when you have bespoke colour products coming down the production line.I was told that vehicles with Exclusive Manufacktur such as personalised door sills, different colour dials etc. are produced with regular door sills and then go to a different part of the plant AFTER manufacture and are reworked.
