does the fan display (the no. of lines) change as the fan ramps up and down?
Yes (I assume it's the same as my 981). It might be worth checking the airconditioning airflow setting (use the lever for the multifunction display to select vehicle and then air conditioning) you can set the airflow to be soft normal or strong. But from what you say it sounds like a fault.

I'm guessing you didn't get through that one on your 981 ownership-fest! wink What do I win?!

On a serious note, it was a big gamble, but when I saw it in the flesh at the factory collection, I was sooo happy I went for it. In bright sunlight it looks magic cloud9
To be honest, examples like yours are worth drooling over, they are so special as so much thought has gone behind speccing them.

Have you tried a folding bucket? I am over 6ft and wouldn't want to be seated any lower. They are perfect IMO and I anguished at the time between them and 18 ways.

The buckets were still available here right up until the end of the run, so if somebody wanted them in the UK I reckon you could have pushed for them. My order locked in Feb 16.
Yes I've tried them and I much prefer to be lower in the SSPs.

My order locked at the end of Jan 2016 and the buckets were categorically not available here in the UK and hadn't been for a while (I asked before I had tried them in a car). If they're not on the configurator when you're ordering they can't be had. I don't think any amount of "pushing" would have got you any! The lack of late '15 and '16 cars with them here in the UK backs this up.
Very strange, I wonder why PCGB pulled them?

I believe it was supply issues due to GT3 RSs, GT4s and Spyders. Interesting that you got them in Oz though, maybe they rationed them across regions?

I was in the same situation as you Twinfan. My order locked in December '15 for a March '16 delivery. Between configuring my 'final spec' at the dealership and the order locking, the buckets were pulled so had to change to 18-way memory seats which are great, but I really wanted the buckets.....

Can anyone help with the memory and comfort access options on my 18 way memory seats? I had them set up so the seats, mirrors and steering wheel all move into my set position when I unlock the car and move all the way back when I park up, allowing easy exit and entry. Even though I have comfort access ticked in the menu and have set my settings by pressing 'set' and then the 'key' symbol in the door, the seats, wheel and mirrors have stopped moving into position when I unlock the car after the brunette has been using it on her key. It means I have to open the door and hold the '1' button on the door to move everything back into my position. Given the brunette is almost a foot shorter than me this takes an age!

Any ideas guys?!?!

I also find the same with the menu settings. I.e. I drive the car with the right hand screen showing oil temp, pressure etc.... and time and date at the bottom along with the speed limit display. After the lady of the house has been using the car on her key the clock as gone back to a 12hr display, the date has gone from the bottom of the display and the speed limit option is no longer ticked. It's infuriating!

I should qualify what I'm going to type with the fact that my car has "entry and drive" but my seats and steering wheel move back/up when the ignition is turned off AND the door is opened. They then don't budge again until I turn the ignition on with the door shut. As I'm the only driver (my blonde is insured just doesn't want to drive it!) I can't comment on the changing of other settings. Certainly unlocking my car does nothing to the seats, mirrors or stealing wheel.

it was my fault. i must have done something wrong before because now it's working as you've described.

thanks for confirming.

I think there's a few ways to set the memory positions, sounds like you are doing it using the numbered buttons on the door, you have to program your key to align with the memory. Its all in the book, or the good to know App under the section Comfort Entry Function/Storing Personal Settings

With everything set as you want it and the ignition on press Set (set light comes on), then press the key button (beep and set light goes off).

Image is a little on the dark side but it does show the depth of colour pretty well

Woah! that looks awesome! I wasn't sure about the colour, just loved the spec, but your image really does show the Yellow far better. Thanks

Do you have PDK / Manual?

Very similar spec to my Boxster GTS just departed you will love it, the yellow is a head turner as mentioned my GT4 is yellow and we went to the WEC at Silverstone last Sunday and my car was parked infield in the PCGB section with a Black GT4 just opersite and a White GT4 about 6 cars up and mine attracted all the attention, its the bright colour it does maker the car stand out. Enjoy

Dealt with Dan a lot and bought my GTS from him back in January. Saw him this morning as it happens! Can't recommend him highly enough - he is a proper car guy and takes real pride in his job. 👍

The car looks amazing - will keep an eye out for it. 😁

Just a quick post in case anyone has looked into putting a bike on the 981 since Porsche removed the roofbar mounts, I recently picked up a Seasucker Talon and have been really impressed with it. (https://www.seasucker.com/products/talon)

It's easy to fix / remove and despite it only holding the bike to the car using suction, it's amazingly strong. The first few times I used it, I was pretty apprehensive (as you'd expect!) but it's never lost suction on any of the 4 pads.

I keep the spoiler permanently raised when using it and use a small piece of 3m helicopter tape to stop the bike wheel rubbing the paintwork.

Anyway, hope someone finds this useful as I struggled to find much info when I was researching all this smile

Cheers

Thanks for that. I would never have believed it. Have you travelled longish distances at (say) motorway speeds?
