The height difference but I bet the springs are stiffer. Still for comfort they are fantastic for fixed rate suspension.

My mates who I drove prefers the flatness of the X73, that was his preference but hard to find the complete spec second hand. He noticed mine stays way flatter when following me.

If I'd never of driven an X73 car I'd be happy with PASM.

It will have a bit more roll as it's 10mm higher. Win some lose some with X73 vs PASM. I feel you win more than you lose, and passive suspension on a 60k car to me felt like a cheap option these days.

Each to their own though of course!
Thought this would be the case.

X73 has approx 10% stiffer (front and rear) springs and front antiroll bar. The rear ARB is more than 20% stiffer too.

Thought this would be the case, it certainly felt it.

X73 is brilliant on track, but too harsh for shopping.

I recommend a GTS with PASM and PDK for weekdays and a GT4 for the weekend.
My wife would disagree :P

X73 on a GTS is the same as what's on the Spyder. It's not our daily but weekend fun, although has been used to do hundreds of miles on driving trips. If I had one as a daily I'd still want X73.

Having had 6 different types of 981 CGTS and BGTS, I tilt towards the X73.

I agree a X73 setup would be my preferred choice.

my first MOT is due soon and as i'm new to all this Porsche/sports car malarky i was wondering what the standard procedure is for MOTing your pride and joy - i'm assuming letting an OPC deal with this is the way to go? if so what costs can i expect?

also, i'm not happy with the service i've had so far from the OPC where i bought my car. Brooklands OPC is very close to where i live and would be ideal for me in that respect - anyone here used them before? was reading in another thread that they are pretty well regarded?

I'm also v close to Brooklands, I did have an older Boxster ('03) serviced there a couple of years back, wasn't overly impressed, I think they let the new rookie loose on it at the time, he wrote the mileage down wrong, which had to be Tipp-Ex'd out (not a great look in the service book!) and called me up to ask if the hood was broken... Nope, just have to have the handbrake on Sir! Could have been a one off so with my first service not too far away either interested to hear any other reviews/experiences

Your OPC Guildford by any chance?

hmmm, that's a bit disappointing to hear.

i'm having the car MOT'd there soon but will wait while it's done. service won't be due for a while so hopefully i won't need any work for now.

if anyone else has used Brooklands then please do chime in.

No, wasn't Guildford. Prefer not to say who - we have a saying where i'm from that goes something along the lines of 'speak of the sin, not of the sinner'.

Mine went yesterday after 6 months on the market. A great car, but I am happy to move on.

6 months on the market?? Is it pink, or something?!

Mine didn’t even hit the market (sold before I’d even dropped it off with even hitting the OPC site) - perhaps I should have asked for more money! Ha ha.

I am in Australia, the market for these is pretty subdued.

Sorry if this is listed somewhere else, but is there anywhere I can get a definitive list of options on a used car? eg. with VIN or reg? Thanks.

If you own the car, a Porsche certificate of authenticity will give you the details. I think a friendly OPC may also be able to give you the list.

Thanks, but no it's on cars I might want to buy. Adverts are sometimes a little light on spec detail (or list spec they haven't got!) so I just wanted some way of knowing for sure.

Surely the seller will just tell you if you ask?

If it's a trade ad they can't include false details as trading standards can fine them for misdescription.

I have my car for sale and I just listed the options, their codes and the cost of each from the order form in the ad, plus the dealer or self fit extras.

You can always go and look!

Yeah I know I will probably just ring them tomorrow, I am just sat here looking at various cars and of course nowhere is open now. And yes I can just go and see, but as is always the way they are always hundreds of miles away so not so easy!

I can't image that this will be an issue in the UK, but before I sold my car I had to have the leather dash replaced under warranty as the airbag cover started to show signs of creases appearing, due to the heat I guess.

Anybody else heard of this?
