You have to slide it fully back to get in and out surely ? Well unless you have no legs and no body and are basically just a head.

That's what I said, it's a technique that I even used in caysters/911s with sports seats in the past, slide back fully when you get out and pull forward into position when you get back in!

haha, is yours on SOR, or did you sell it to the dealership?

I'm not actively selling mine, if someone comes along with a genuine interest for the car, and is happy to either deal privately, or through the OPC, then we'll talk. It is a beautiful car, and I know (like you) I'll regret selling it when the time comes; it is that special.

Sor, had a nightmare with a lunatic sellIng my dbs privately last time round so sellIng it through opc gives buyer peace of mind and means I don't waste my time.

Lastest from the OPC network, 2 sold/removed (Chester and Kendal) and 2 added (Guildford and the return again of the Brooklands car - that must be 10 times on/off the network now, I assume they do it to stay on top of a list or something!). Prices only seem to be increasing on these, or at least firming up around the £90k mark.

What do people think of GT4 residuals at the moment? Do you believe them to be high still and due a drop? Or do you think they're fairly stable?

I'm looking to trade down, and the GT4 might be the car to jump into (previously had a 996 GT3).

I'm not concerned about losing some value, its to be expected with cars on the whole....but don't want to take a bath if/ when the bubble bursts (if one exists).

Thoughts are appreciated.

If you're OK losing a few thousand if the market turns you'll be OK. I think it all depends what the 718 GT4 is when it arrives, but the current model will be stable in price for a little while IMHO.

OPC prices are firm @ around the 90k mark.

My take on the whole residuals topic is as follows: If the cars are now going to proper owners that will actually use the cars as intended then resale prices will eventually drop a little bit as mileage increases. If you're are a proper owner that wants enjoyment from the car this will not bother you because you know that cars are rarely good financial investments but are great emotional investment stores. That is the only way to be satisfied. If you happen to not lose much money that's a bonus. It will be at least a couple of years before return to list, and if you're buying on finance you're unlikely to be ever be in a negative equity situation.

OPC prices migtht be "firm" but that means nothing if they aren't selling. Many are SOR so the OPC doesn't care how long they sit there. Portsmouth have a guards red gt4 which they have had zero interest in and in their own words is a basic car "overpriced".

Couple of yellow ones for 85k on AT now.

What else is out there at that price point ? A late 991.1s is going to cost c£80k a good 991.1gts £95k so IMHO the gt4 sits somewhere in the middle ! If you buy well between £85-90k I don't think you will loose your shirt over the next few years! List plus a few well chosen extras is £70-75k if it hits that marker so does everything else ie it's all relative!
