Do you know the background to why someone would order that car in a 'Paint to Sample Lichtgrün' and then spec it with red belts and red stitching? I like the exterior but the choice of contrast trim is lost on me.
I know it's personal preference but I thought exactly the same thing. I was in the market for a GT4 in the past couple of weeks and immediately discounted this car on the colour of interior against the green. Having said that obviously somebody thought it looks great (they specced it), so each to their own.mk1salami said:

Of course it's for driving. Are you saying the way a car looks is irrelevant to how much you'd pay for it?
No, not at all - it's somewhat relevant - but for maybe a car like that... pretty rare PTS - at least Red Stitching, Seatbelts and Callipers somewhat match. Just that we have seen so many of these threads discussing stitching and spec that are not impactful on the driving experience - really these cars are for driving - this is why i was despairing.Edited by TDT on Monday 15th October 15:23

Indeed. But you have to have an eye on trading it on at some point and the customer base for such a colour scheme I suspect would be limited. It needs to be priced accordingly especially as it's competing with OPC cars in more sober colours and have the 2yr bullet-proof warranty thrown in. I'd be prepared to do a deal on the car but I'm now questioning why AT have it flagged as having been 'exported' at some point in the past?
Pretty much done a uturn on the purchase of my next car and found myself sitting in a GT4 today, couple of chaps I drive with have them but don't really know what or if anything to look for. Car is at Newcastle Porsche has some tasty carbon seats, sat nav, done 10k and at just under 80k. Anyone know the car?
I haven't driven it yet prefer to agree figures before I get too excited but sat in today and gave the gear stick a wobble, seems quite notchy and mechanical, almost unPorsche like is that normal.

Its the Fokkers old car I haven't driven it yet prefer to agree figures before I get too excited but sat in today and gave the gear stick a wobble, seems quite notchy and mechanical, almost unPorsche like is that normal.
It's a good one and most of the miles done by me. I looked after it, has a 70% wrap and never had any issues.
Are you dealing with Chris Archer?
I put new Cup 2's on it not so long ago as well. Its a good car with no bad history or even warranty claims so feel free to make the purchase
I'm now in a 981 Spyder for a bit of a change.
Cheers
Dave
Just as an explanation I part exchanged the GT4 for a 991.2 GTS man with buckets. Very good car, very quick but the 7 speed manual gearbox wasn't a patch on the GT4 / Spyder and it was almost completely devoid of sound being a turbo. A good every day Porsche but not that special on a Sunday morning.

I'm happy to explain the Export marker of course. It had a brief holiday outside of the U.K. I'd be prepared to do a deal on the car but I'm now questioning why AT have it flagged as having been 'exported' at some point in the past?

Sure - one such example is Henry Catchpole in his Carfection review of the GT3 - he says the GT3 shift is great, but he prefers the Cayman shift.
I did not notice much of a change, knowing Porsche it's the same shifter and part number. the 997 one is the Cayman R one as an example.I just watched his vid he did not say that bar the S2000 one which we all know is great.
in fact he said this GT3 one is one of the best ! no talk of the GT4. If he stated that in a early review he soon changed his mind when he got to drive a GT3 for real ;-) to make that new quote.

Having both myself, Henry is spot on. GT4 / Spyder gearbox is definite nicer to use. It feels tighter and more direct. The shift in the new GT3 is ok, not amazing in my book but then it probably is to most people, its just I'm comparing is to my other cars which are better

Have a listen from 7.11 in the full GT3 Review https://youtu.be/w0d_AZbSLwQ - he talks about the R, then the .2 GT3 that he is driving and then says - he still prefers the Cayman shift and that it's the benchmark...It's subjective anyway... one mans view. I haven't driven a .2 GT3 with Manual so can't add my own perspective.

The GT4 shift is definitely nicer... The clutch is also slightly too light on the GT3I haven't driven a .2 GT3 with Manual so can't add my own perspective.
